Yep UKIP has lost it. john Bikley their immigration minister has stated their plan to replace all the missing seasonal workers lost due to their zero, immigration policy is a return to school kids and students fruit picking like they did in the old days as a rites of passage. Is the Chris Wilson's return to great British traditions? Perhaps kids can start cleaning chi, nets again and going out to work at 11 instead of been a drain on society?

Get them down the pits imo

Some thoughts from today.

May continuing with these closed door hand picked audiences are just getting ridiculous.

This immigration target... oh how we've heard that before. If they had any plans to do this they would have completely changed immigration rules for non EU nationals years a go when Cameron first announced the idea. Guess we can still import tens of thousands of skilled workers to cover those effected by educational and bursary cuts. Then those people can fill up the low skilled jobs the EU migrants might have been doing. Or maybe get them jobs in the home office to shift through all the visa applications since they have next to no staff as it is.

Probably get out sourced to G4S or Capita though.

Can't beLeave she wusses out on the tv debates as well and it's going to be question time but with one leader at a time.

Is that a bad thing? Have you ever spoken to anyone that did it? My grandmother's did and both speak of it fondly. Some of the best memories of their lives was what both of them said. Experiencing country life. Spending time with their mothers, siblings and meeting new people. Camping out. Campfires. Games. Singing.

Sounds pretty good to me.

I did it too and was damn hard work and isn't like the good old days nowadays. But what are ukip going to do? Force hundreds of thousands of students to do it for summer? By my reckoning the veg and fruit picking harvest is longer than student summer holidays anyway so you will still need a big number of migrant workers.

Plus once I was at Uni I didn't want to do that any more during holidays and got summer jobs working in businesses related to what I wanted to do after uni.

It's depressing that this election will be fought on personality not policies.

Sounds like something that the perpetually unemployed could do. However just because you weren't a fan when others clearly were shouldn't mean we have to rule something out.

No it was a job to earn money during the holidays. It certainly wasn't like your mother described it though and I'm going back 30 years here. It's hard work. It's not some kind of summer camp. If it was so pleasant more students would do it now anyway.

So again I ask, are you going to force students and make it compulsory or how do you get people to go and pick fruit and veg all summer when they won't do it now?

I am ruling it on the basis you will never get enough numbers to replace the immigrant workers so you can have zero immigration like UKIP states. It's a pipe dream.

And as for the perpetually unemployed, most won't live where the picking is needed so are you going. To relocate them for six months of a year or bus them in each day?

Grandmothers. 70 and 80 years ago. Unpaid. These are both women who have led fantastic lives. Widely travelled. Very comfortable. As I say they loved it. If they thought it was crap they'd certainly say so.

No, the depressing bit comes from the realisation that the "winning" personality really isn't very appealing at all. I have a feeling history won't be kind to her. Less so than most Prime Ministers.

Is she strong? Or just difficult? I suspect the latter.

I normally vote Conservative, but I truly hate Theresa May, her cabinet and everything she stands for. How can anyone possibly vote for someone has done nothing but fail upwards?

We get a small majority voting for Brexit in a none binding referendum and she drives us straight into a hard Brexit.
She pushes her agenda of digital madness of tracking everyone on to ISPs.
Her cronie Amber Rudd proves to be utterly clueless again about anything based in the digital world.
More privatisation of the NHS.
Cuts to education, this is madness. We need to be supporting and helping our next generation in every way we can.
and the list goes on ....

Not sure what to think, I normally detest Labour but honestly everything they currently stand for attracts me and everything the Conservatives and Theresa May is pushing is really what I am against... How can people vote for her?

I agree with all of this.

Unfortunately people actually respond to things such as "Brexit means brexit" and "strong and stable leadership" without having any grasp on the reality of where political parties stand and the issues that affect their own lives. It reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Lois stands for Mayor and just answers every question with "9/11", to thunderous applause.

If May win's ill be devastated - we couldn't have a worse Britain doing negotiations with the EU.

The EU will run rings round her - she's just not cut out for it - she won't even have a discussion in the UK.

She thinks she's maggy part 2 - but she's no where near, she's a trembling ant compared to maggy, she will destroy the UK.

Starting off negotiations by threatening the EU with pulling UK 'intelligence' then having ago at them for apparently 'messing with elections' will just drive them up the wrong way.

She SHOULD have offered a few things to show were interested in a good deal - EU nationals welcome, working with the EU for expats - start off on a good footing.

But no - straight into threats and bullying which won't work in ANY way because we have NOTHING the EU wants or needs!! lol, we have no cards to hold, she's dangerously delusional, unstable & weak.

We do have cards. And plenty of things the EU needs. The EU has been a lot more prosperous with us than it will be without us. And it stands to lose out considerably if no agreement is reached. Both sides stand to lose.

That's the scary bit; the idea that negotiations could go so badly that both sides would sooner suffer than maintain a good working relationship.

Saw this from 2008. Nothing's been done about it as far as I'm aware. As pm, surely she could've sorted this out with ease.

"Theresa May is continuing to campaign against car parking charges that were introduced in St Marks Hospital at the beginning of November. Theresa has taken up the concerns of many local residents with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Lise Llewellyn, Chief Executive of Berkshire East Primary Care Trust (PCT).

The controversial scheme was approved by the PCT in the summer despite a strong local campaign and a petition presented by Theresa, a group of local traders and residents. Theresa said, “I am still strongly opposed to the introduction of car parking charges at St Marks. They are being brought in against the will of hospital staff, local residents and the people of Maidenhead who use the community hospital. I am particularly concerned about the effect this could have on roads around the hospital and will continue to work towards the abolition of these unhelpful charges.”"

Corbyn stating she refuses to do anything (no idea if she's said as much, or meant through lack of action) but he posted this.

I think it's stupid that nurses et al are having to pay to park where they work & that some have even been ticketed.
