Last i heard this afternoon was a girl had fell into the water and rushed off to hospital. Shocked to hell to hear that shes passed away. Like you say the parents are going to be beside themselves.

Whilst an absolute tragedy that must be heart breaking for everyone involved, this is why such strict safety procedures are in place, that ride itself is very safe if the procedures are followed.. It's not a ride like the smiler.

Couldn't imagine hearing that news and not being able to do anything to help :(

Very sad.

Slightly bemused at how she died though. It looks fairly shallow, and lots of people around to help out.

Not to mention these signs are all over the place...

sad news :(

it does seem very odd how this can happen assuming she was the correct height for the ride and the instructions were followed?

also odd that even if someone were to fall in they weren't able to rapidly shut down the ride and rescue the poor girl

Chances are she fell over the front and went underneath. There was a similar accident a little while back in Oz I think. Would be too quick for anyone to do anything.

It's as if they won't us to say "ohh she's Muslim, let's not worry to much then"

It doesn't matter about race or religion its an 11 year old girl that's passed away on a day out with her school friends!!

These newspapers really annoy me at times :mad:

Fast moving water at knee height is enough to sweep grown adults away, a kid wouldn't stand a chance.

Muslim girl from Islamic school - clearly we need to be made aware of these "double" Muslims, even when they drown.

Can't really pretend to be shocked at the journalism though as my contempt for the Daily Mail is already well established.

So sad...one reason why I don't like going to theme parks anymore... just don't trust them!

it isn't necessarily the theme park's fault though - if she was supposed to be supervised by an adult and they've told everyone to sit down yet she's was standing up ... well there could well be a teacher/responsible adult feeling rather guilty now
