Trump Fires FBI Director

I don't think you understand the distinction between third-parties asking Comey to resign versus someone under active investigation firing him.

I believe IronWarrior was criticising the public whose views on James Comey's fitness have swung 180 now that it is Trump rather than Hillary. In which case the distinction is irrelevant.

Do we have any evidence of this happening or is it just another straw man?

Trump is heading for impeachment the way things are going. He's not got the skills to do the job properly and everything he's wanting to do is wrong. I'm glad I'm not living in America right now. Trump is a political hand grenade, it's just a matter of time when he detonates.

The public doesn't particularly believe that Comey deserves to keep his job. If Trump had immediately fired him upon taking office, then there would be no issue. Why didn't he do it then, but has done it now? - That's the issue.

Well the post you quoted was an image of someone tweeting both for and against Comey on different dates, wasn't it? I was just replying to what you quoted by IronWarrior and pointing out what you said didn't apply to it.

James Comey 'requested more money for Russia investigation' before Trump fired him

Former FBI Director James Comey requested more money to fund his investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 US election just days before President Donald Trump suddenly fired him, the New York Times reports.

Several sources said that Mr Comey had asked the Justice Department for a "significant increase" in funding and personnel to look into Russia's interference into the election. The request was directed to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who wrote a memo that has widely been regarded as providing the primary argument for Mr Comey's sacking.

trump and the dodgy people he's surrounded himself with are running scared, only a matter of time now before his impeachment

He's a disaster. But he was also a protest vote against the Establishment. He only secured the Republican nomination in the first place and got where he did because of the disenfranchisement of most Republican voters by their own party and because Hillary instructed friends in the media to actively treat him seriously because they thought she couldn't lose against such a terrible opponent. (imo).

If he is impeached that will be received by much of the American public (he secured half the vote) as confirmation that democracy is dead and you only get to choose between establishment-backed candidates.

That is true,

He was fired during an investigation. It looks bad, if he himself resigned like people wanted different story but people are kicking off because Trump fired him at around the time evidence is apparently supposed to be mounting...

But who knows.

It's possible but there isn't anything to suggest he will be impeached at the moment - even if we suppose that some people in his campaign did have links/communications with the Russians that doesn't necessarily mean he is personally at risk of impeachment, not getting a second term on the other hand as a result of it - sure.

He's been in office a little over a hundred days and achieved nothing positive. Everything he does is regressive. He's not fit to be president.

Having a negative opinion of a President has little to do with impeachment. I think most people agree that he's basically a massive idiot but there is no mechanism to remove him on that basis alone.

Collusion with the Russians during the election IS grounds for impeachment. That's why he fired the one man leading the investigation into it.

A little while ago and now they flipflop.

Pretty much sums up the entire liberal left and the media.
Lolz!!!!!!

People sharing this rubbish should try holding both of these non-contradictory thoughts in their head at the same time:

1) Comey should have been fired at the time of his intervention in the election or very soon afterwards.
2) It is extremely suspicious for a President who has taken no action against him in the past four months to then fire him for conduct that he had been fully aware of throughout as an investigation into his own administration is gathering steam.

If Comey had been fired the day after the inauguration and the Democrats had reacted the same way as they are now, these idiotic memes might have a point.

Well to be fair to the orange coloured buffoon, that hasn't been proven yet.

But the timing of this firing does raise huge suspicions about the whole Russian meddling in the election last year. It also raises questions as to what Trump/his administration have got to hide, that they ended up firing Comey.

There's no smoke without fire as they say.

I just do not understand why he's not been impeached already. He is already doing impeach-worthy things by falling foul of The Nobility (emoluments) Clause of the US constitution with his continuing business activities and use of Trump-owned commercial property for official business.
