Post your double din installs

Had it almost 2 years now. Can't remember the exact model but it was manufactured by Joying, with the 1024x600 screen & quad core processor. Prior research was essential - there were many threads on XDAdevelopers discussing the nuances of all the generic Chinese types.
My biggest pre-purchase concern was the DAC quality but they're great. I use the 5v preouts. And no, I don't dust.

Runs Android 4.4.4, so nearly fit for the era of the car I guess :D

Waze runs perfect on it, 3G works perfect on it, 128GB USB stick with my music and media on work too.

Think I'm going behind the Passengers seat in through the panel that covers the Plugs and electrics for the roof.

My plan is to route the wire through here then out through the boot :)

How are you going to power the camera? I know quite a few people power theirs off the power to the reverse light itself and they also use that as a trigger but on some cars (mine being one of them) the camera won't reliably get enough power from there. I guess you'll try it all out before you hard wire anything in but be prepared to have to run another two wires alongside your video feed too - for power and for the reverse trigger to the head unit. I just ran a power cable into a fuse tap in the glove box fuse box and that took care of it.

I'm liking your one also Tom.

Good to see waze working, although I've only ever used google maps (have a ZUK Z2 phone).

Can either of these unit do miracast with one of these miracast adaptors to switch to video input (yellow/red/white RCAs) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07Ti7eb-EdI), or is it done with bluetooth/USB?

I'm wondering, as I can get a Pioneer 120 App Radio off ebay for £250 which has HDMI and a couple of USBs, along with Carplay (for the gfs iphone) and as the Murano is going to be our new main runaround,I want it to be able to do both Android/Apple.

Bluetooth Mic fitted above the rear view mirror
Gps Antenna tucked away inside the dash

The usb cable for the phone is routed beside/under the centre console, then up to a little cubby hole with a sliding cover which is next to the handbrake perfect size for the phone & also could not be bothered to keep reaching over to the glovebox to plug/unplug my phone.

Nothing here that fits the bill http://www.connects2.co.uk/products/steering-wheel-control-interfaces/vehicle/Mazda

Email their tech support they are really helpful :)

Hope this helps?

I would also be interested to see what your reversing cam/number plate looks like when its fitted too ;)

I'll post pics...Cheers I see the wire goes over the top rather than from underneath , Because I have to remove the centre console steering and handbrake section I'm hoping to use a screw hole for the lightning cable from underneath so I see no wires at all...

Cheers

Mine here, Perfect fir for my iphone 6

Correct I didn't have the time or daylight to remove the whole lot, that's the reason I went for a black lightning cable (less obvious than a white cable on display all the time) the excess cable is stowed in the centre under the armrest.

Hopefully when Ios 11 arrives it will support wireless carplay ;)

Cheers all

I have a Xtrons in my Focus - it is made for it - took old one out - plugged in new and pushed it in - looks original - Was so pleased got a rear camera - worked fine until one day it didn't come on. Also as the car is Keyless it didn't have a ACC connection so to listen to radio I needed to turn on ignition - Total PIA - So last week took it all out rewired so radio is on permanent live feed which helps and rear camera worked again - for 4 days then packed up - Also the satnav is the most complicated sat nav I have ever used. If I started again I would pay the £175 pounds for a new sat nav card for the old Ford Blunktpunk ? (spell check failed me) - radio that was in the car or buy a real double din named radio. Just feel like I have thrown money down drain - and the sound is crap even with new door speakers.

I had always assumed that you could install any Sat Nav app on the various Android units, be it Google Maps, Waze, TomTom or whatever else... Is that not the case?
