Overwatch

If any of you are like me and use pad they added some extra settings today and now you can adjust smoothing.
I have set it to 0 and it feels much snappier than the default 100 that we had before.

Edit: just to add I been testing this for couple of hours and it is so much better than before you can now turn instant. Think I won everymatch since turning smoothing off lol.

why would anyone put themselves at a disadvantage like that is beyond me..

just buy a console so its a level playing field?

Do I really need to explain why I play on pc over console? Cheaper games, free online, higher frames, less input lag, control over settings, no loading times etc...

Pretty sure switching to console would be the disadvantage.
 
Have this on ps4 but double dipped and bought on pc and must say the difference is massive, I'm finding it much easier to use some characters e.g. pharah, also super smooth and looks stunning in ultrawide:D

but the skillgap between someone with a xbox pad and mouse keyboard is massive.. u must enjoy watching deathcam
 
Diamond dream is looking dead for me again this season - made it back to my career high last week (2986) but have now fallen back to 2852... feels too late in the season now and the amount of leavers, trolls and people trying to de-rank for whatever reason is becoming pretty common... Still at least I seem to be hovering/fluctuating around 2900 now instead of 2700 so perhaps that hints at improvement overall

What times are you playing at? What characters do you play?
I've had the opposite experience lately and managed to climb to 3700 on one account and 3600 on the other. I mainly play after 9pm when the kids are asleep and haven't had many trolls lately. I also found playing on the US server was quite fun, my ping was 80-95ms but it wasn't a huge problem and they were much more communicative and less griefy than EU.

I hit diamond last season this season my high is around 2980.
Now you can turn off all the artificial delay it's so much snappier to turn around 180 I can see me ranking higher hopefully I can break through that horrible 3k barrier and stay there.

Depends on the character choice, if your talking about tracer for example then yes your right the skill gap would be massive but if your talking about a character like winston then there is no difference.
 
trying to track a decent genji as winston with a xbox pad would be so hard imo...

i suck with controllers always have done due to small hands thats why ive always gamed on a PC.. last console i had was the SNES..

whats classes do u play?

Usually in the evenings on EU... if I ever happen to play in the daytime or earlier in the afternoon I do hop onto NA as I find it a bit better...

As for characters I'm fairly flexible, enjoy playing Pharah, Tracer and Soldier but often find myself filling instead where I can play Rein, Winston, Dva, Zen, Lucio or Ana to a good level... not quite so good with Mercy, Zarya or Hog but not awful either... Been practicing Mcree, Sombra, Mercy, Hog and Orisa in Quickplay as they take my fancy (and I'm not good enough with them for comp yet)

To be honest worse than the trolls/leavers etc. are just the people who give up as soon as they other team do something half-decent... "gg" "it's lose" etc. it's super disheartening especially given how possible it is to make comebacks... instead having to get dragged through half a round with a bunch of throwers that aren't even going to try
 
For what it's worth, my advice (and I've only just hit 3700 so I'm no GM amazing awesome player) would be to specialise more and try to carry. I mainly play tanks, I have a 68% win rate on Zarya and 62% on Hog so I always try and play those characters. I haven't found any reason ever to not play Zarya, watch some videos like CANAS1AN who gives really good tips about playing her, when to use your 2nd bubble (basically its to save not build charge), how to bounce chars like soldier up in the air with alt fire so they are easier to track etc. If I can't pick those 2 I'll play soldier if we need a hitscan, winston for a dive (he's super good at the moment but not as easy as he looks) or DVA. Hog and Zarya can both carry a game.

if you play hog, don't just try for dps picks, if they have a winston diving your backline you deal with him and keep your healer(s) alive. Also find a buddy to duo queue with, then only 4/6 players might throw and you aren't classed as having a group advantage.
 
Thanks for the advice... I do tend to stick to one or two main heroes, quite often Rein/Winston at the moment, and generally play in a group of anything from 2 - 6 with friends... Solo queuing a bit today because I have the day off and because it's become clear that I'll never get to diamond this season so who cares?

Just got out of a game on NA where I went 50-8 as Winston, gold objective kills and objective time... a narrow loss 3-2 and got told I was trash and totally responsible for the loss (apparently)

My mains are symmetra, reinhardt, winston, roadhog.
I have played on controller for the last 30 years and switched from console to pc about 6 years ago but still have it setup like console sat in my living room on sofa with 50" screen and surround sound home cinema.

As for genji it's no issue at at all staying on locked on him with sym,rein,winston.
 
Had a 9 game loss streak last night and this morning, dropped from 3263 to around 2900. Games included 2 leavers, trolls, hanzo's doing nothing for a full round, Sombras doing nothing for a full round, playing Junkrat into Pharah, etc. The one game I won I did 22k healing as Mercy. It feels like RNG for good team mates.

Before anyone suggests otherwise, I'm completely open minded to people playing off meta characters, but when they aren't working and continue to not work and the player does not and will not switch it just ruins the game for me.
