Just bought a cheap KFA2 1080 EXOC, all good?

I just bought this.

I have seen a few scams for ridiculously underpriced cards that are obvious scams. This was not in that realm, but very very cheap for a 1080 I think.

I've been holding off on buying a new PC, but saw this, 1 item left in stock (there were 2 and then 1 went, so I snapped it up) and I guess I will shortly purchase the rest of the components..

Is the KFA2 1080 good - I hurriedly researched that it is a lesser know brand but they are genuine, and a few benchmarks show it is not the coolest nor fastest 1080, but not too far off and the price/performance seems insane.

Thoughts? Did I just break my own rule of not being too hasty and have erred?...I have been holding onto a PC parts list to buy and been researching for almost 2 years: Obviously the parts have changed a lot over that time, but I've committed now.

EDIT: Removed reference to whom I bought from. Just that I happened to buy it for said price, hopefully within the forum rules now.

Edit 2: Price removed too.

"fulfilled by the rain forest" means its stored in the rain forest's warehouse but not owned by the rain forest. So you should be fine, If the price changed after it just means that was the cheapest seller and they only had one. Worst come to worst the rain forest will refund you.

I bought a sound card from a seller that was "fulfilled by Amazon" recently. They were supposed to send me the Asus Essence STX II, instead they sent me the first version, but the labels had been replaced so it scanned in as a II. It wasn't Amazon's fault, clearly the seller was trying to pull a fast one. Make sure to check everything thoroughly on arrival.

Hmm, what would be a good way to check it out? The other parts will be a few weeks at best...I have a really old 6 year old PC, can I just stick it there (the PSU is new though, a G2 750W, but will the motherboard etc be ok?...It has a clarkdale i3...)

How about telling me what to amend then instead of making such a remark and leaving it at that? Very unhelpful. I'm more than happy to change as necessary. I'm guessing outside links?

no competitor pricing

you're not allowed to talk about competitors prices

He was actually being very lenient as it is normal to suspend people for what was in the OP.

You really need to remove the price as well as there is a rule about discussing prices outside the members market.

i have 1080 exoc nothing wrong with the card and it is actually pretty good.

edit : be aware of scams on rainforest , but usually customer support will help you

OP, I'm in the same boat. I'm in two minds though. I might return it.

I've had my eye on the OcUK Sniper version for a while (had a lot of luck with KFA2 & OcUK in the past so wanted to stick with them both). That said I thought there wouldn't be much difference between the cards, and to be honest I'm not sure there is, but one thing I do know is that the 1080 EXOC doesn't have the fanstop tech. So it'll be full speeding the fans even when not under stress I assume. The Sniper wouldn't under 45c if I understand it correctly.

Anyway, I haven't installed it yet as I'm migrating to a new case and waiting for some extra bits (should get these today). I might just plug it in and see what's what. I do enjoy my silence, and a card blasting the fans under non-gaming, day to day use stress doesn't appeal to me. If it's too loud, I'll return it and go with the OcUK Sniper.

Like you said OP, spontaneous "oh my god that's a good price" reaction overcame logic at the time lol.

not audible at all ,my the pump of aio is only thing that makes sound , my case is under the table but it is very close to me even if i put my head close to side of the case nearly no sound . at 43% fans spin 1000 rpm

you can start hearing the fans when they spin up in game above 65 to 70 %

if its substantially cheaper then other counter parts no reason not to get it .

Ps : im not sure about sniper edition what changes they made
