Looks really good, well done :)

Cheers mate :)

Looks fantastic!

Is everything working? Steering wheel controls all OK?

All working , Steering wheel control, volume, mute, track seach etc...all working

TBH, I'm quite proud of myself...I'm not confident with these kind of things...Its taken me two days :p

I have the Video Rear view camera plugged into the back and next weekend I'll wire it in. I tested it first using the Car battery just so I can could get a picture....

I connected the Reverse Lead trigger wire on the head unit with the mazda wiring loom and will wire the camera to the reverse light in the boot for power to camera.

When I put the car in reverse the trigger wire should put the JVC in camera mode.

Next weekends mini project :)

Here's my new stereo in the CLK. I'm not a massive fan of the plastic surround within another plastic surround but there wasn't much I could do.

Cost me hundreds to get it installed. I had an upgraded BOse stereo system with fibre optic cabling. I needed 2 new Amps in the boot. One for the main speakers and one for the sub.

sounds absolutely awesome though! :D

Does anyone know if you can run Waze via Carplay? Some website claim you can but others say not.

If you run Waze on your iphone all you will get is spoken turn by turn instructions, the maps will not show on the headunit sadly, its the same with Tom Tom Go as well.

Cheers All

I'm really impressed with the JVC and its boot time....I guess these are designed to just shut off when you turn the ignition off?

Feels somewhat odd doing this...

My Pioneer stays on when the ignition is switched off, when I remove the key from the ignition it then shuts down, expect its a VW thing.

Cheers all

Need to find a new double din for the Mk2.5 MX5, just Bluetooth streaming is all I really care about, but some of the Android ones do look handy!

Any ideas if you can throw a double din in a Volvo V50? that floating surrouns makes it look very hard!

Not sure I'm afraid, you'd probably have to replace both the amplifiers and speakers (the bose speakers are usually of different impedance to the average aftermarket car audio speakers, being matched to their specific amplifier). So it becomes a much bigger job!

If you want an improvement in sound then using dynamat or silent coat sound deadening to the insides of the door cards makes a good difference on the mk3 mx5. The door cards are very buzzy as standard, lots of vibration which doesn't help the sound quality.

Was playing Dark Side of the moon on the drive home from work and I was getting buzzing on the right hand side speaker on the Great Gig in the sky Intro. I put my finger on the silver surround on the speaker and the buzz went away...I'll defo do the dynamat thing...Have you done a guide at all?

That's a really tidy job. Must have been such a relief after having it all in bits.

Cheers mate,

I cant say the process was enjoyable...But once back in and all working the sense of achievement was immense! :D

Further to my previous post on page three ? I have now took the Xtrons PF7FSFS-B out of my Focus.

Along with the sat nav card seizing up on regular basis which seems to be a normal occurance because as soon as I emailed seller they instantly came back with take card out - put in PC - do a error test which came back OK and refit - worked fine till next time - Then last weekend the whole thing seize - no touch control - nothing on button press - so did a main reboot with paper clip and it worked - also since I wired up the permanent power the head unit has been slowly draining battery each night so had enough it's in garage now.- HU that is

People have said put another sat nav prog on - This unit came with a mini SD card Sat Nav and main problem was I do not have data on my mobile phone so didn't know which way to go. - Having a land line I do not want to pay any more for communications - I am a old bloke and it's for emergencies :D

Going to buy a Garmin as the Ford sat nav is now 7 years old.
