McDonalds advert - let the outrage flow...

So a charity like the BHF is allowed to exploit loved ones deaths, which it has done in a big way to raise money but McDonalds, who do give a lot away to children's charities, cannot? The BHF advert where the dead dad visits the kid in school and says he can't come home any more is way more upsetting to kids than the McDs one.

Pie and mash, which to me is a fast food, reminds me of my grandad. It was his favourite and I always used to watch in awe as he polished off five pies and triple mash.

They were always going to be treading a line with this subject. Their intentions were probably good but the 'niceness' of it doesn't really work in the context of an 'advert' - they were probably best off avoiding it altogether as people are naturally going to be very sensitive about it.

Agree

I think this quote from within the article sums up feelings:

"It's an unnecessary subject to exploit for the gain of a brand."
