Help - MSI B350M Mortar - RAM doesnt work in slots 1+3

Hi,

Recently purchased DDR4 RAM (Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Red LED)
The pc doesnt post with it in slots 1+3
Only posts with it slots 2+4
On the MSI B350M Mortar far right there is an EZ Debug LED and the top one stays red with the RAM in 1+3

*CPU - indicates CPU is not detected or fail*
DRAM - indicates DRAM is not detected or fail.
VGA - indicates GPU is not detected or fail.
BOOT - indicates the booting device is not detected or fail.

Should i RMA or is there something else to try?

ps. I can only overclock the RAM to 2933. Tried loose timings and increased DRAM voltage as high as 1.4v to no avail.
Can i get 3200 in these two slots? Also on the latest bios 7A37v14 update via MSI.

what does your manual say of adding Memory in?
lots 1 & 3 might actually be wired up differently as actually most boards are slot 2&4 for 2 sticks in dual channel.
you'd think you'd automatically place 2 sticks in these slots but not the case. Just google AM4 and Z270 boards and you'll see its always slots 2+4

also allows option of larger heatsinks.

as for ram timings, Gaming 3 has had more luck with hitting 3200 LXP but im sure AMD/MSI will get the bios out to get your ram at full speed. not sure if MSI release beta bios like Gigabyte or other brands .

Thanks for the comments. Makes sense now about the slots 2+4 as it does mention it in the manual (should read them more often). Hopefully future MSI bios updates will get me to 3200 soon...

Not sure if MSI has done May AMD update in their latest bios, if not should be a massive help when it comes out . still in beta at gigabytes end
