Ian Brady dead

You know, thinking about the rather nasty request he made about his ashes, I wonder if he told someone where the bodies were to throw his ashes on them?

Probably not, but still, even if rather disgusting, it would alleviate a at least one families hell. Perhaps the final insult will be getting the families themselves to block this request, even if it would potentially end the torment, rather than the insult being that his body is strewn across his dumping grounds.

Are we allowed to be disrespectful towards the dead on this forum now? If so I would have some comments on Brady.

Shame we had to pay for him to be in prison all this time. Should have just put him in a normal prison. He wouldn't have been a burden on society for very long.... I am sure another prisoner would have *cough* looked after him. ;)

He didn't deserve the mention

I agree entirely. But i feel that Pauline Reade, John Kilbridge, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey and Edward Evans all deserve a mention. I hope this will bring some more closure to their family members who are still with us. And that those poor children all rest easy knowing that massive **** is dead.

Is there not any technology they could use to find the body of the child he wouldn't give the location of? Similar to stuff they use in the sea that sends radar waves etc

He wanted to die since 1999 apparently. Has been on hunger strike and they've been force-feeding him through a tube.

In this instance I think we should have granting his wish and allowed him to die. Keeping him alive serves what purpose? Waste of money if you ask me.

The search area is too large. Like finding MH370. Needle in a haystack.

For those saying close the thread, you're actually making it worse, as by replying, the thread is just getting bumped to the top of the page over and over again.

Was way before my time, obviously know of the tragedy. Does anyone know of his reasoning for keeping the last boys location hidden? He'd given up the other 4, or were they found without his help.

Was just about to comment what FoxEye said. When we're searching for crashed planes at the bottom of the sea bed, the wreckage/debris is likely to be somewhat visible to a ROV, it's just a case of finding the area.

On land, he's likely to have buried the body, so not only do you have to narrow down the search area, but it's also likely you'd need to scan through layers of dirt or even worse concrete.

Do human skeletons ever fully decompose? You might find in decades to come that some development site accidentally uncovers the remains.

They did use some US technology which via satellites tracked soil movement, didn't help.

That's sad. Guess we will never know until someone discovers the little boys skeleteon.

to make him suffer. probably makes me a terrible person but I'm glad we inflicted as much suffering on him as was possible by force feeding him and keeping him alive. just a shame we couldn't have prolonged it a bit longer.

The justice system is supposed to be - for good reason - cold and emotionally detached.

Making offenders suffer is not and should not be a consideration. Prison is supposed to protect the population from offenders, deter opportunists, and rehabilitate where possible (obvs not in this case!)

Our prisons (and other penal facilities) are already overcrowded. We've kept this guy alive for over a decade when he wanted to die all this time. It doesn't seem to be all that logical. The bills for his medical care alone are probably astronomical.

Spending public money for vengeance strikes me as a massive waste of our taxes.

there was a documentary on at the weekend past about this pair. re keith bennet I think Hindley may have indicated an 'area of interest' a couple of times (shiny brook I think?) but nothing was ever found. I'm sure some expert noted that there were a number of streams flowing through the area which, depending how deeply they buried the lad, could have washed his remains away. not sure how true this is as I was only flicking back and forth so wasn't watching/listening too closely.

true or not - it's highly unlikely that the lads remains will ever be found now :(

of course you are totally correct. but you know what, every now and then someone comes along who deserves that little bit extra special treatment and for me this pos was one of those.
