Hi everyone,

So I placed my order (with OcUK) around 2 weeks ago, and at that time I believe the Gigabyte Aorus was advertised to have 4 years warranty if the card is registered with Gigabyte.

And then I tried registering the card on the Aorus website... it pops up saying that the S/N & EAN is not eligible for extended warranty.

After that I checked the OcUK website again and now it seems like they've changed the warranty from 4 years (online registration required) back to 3 years for the standard Aorus :(

Can a rep step forward and explain what the warranty situation is? And if any early Aorus have any success in registering for the 4-year warranty?

Thanks.

According to Gigabytes site

Graphics cards: GIGABYTE provides 3 years warranty from the production date. The warranty applies exclusively to distributors and dealers. End users have to claim the RMA service through dealers where the product was purchased. For the XTREME GAMING series graphic cards with special extended warranty terms, please refer to the product page or XTREME GAMING site

I must admit Defi, my Aorus at the time stated 4 years too. Wasn't able to register my card (it was Xtreme version only I gather for the 4 years).

That's what I thought as well.

And it's not just me who was fed the misinformation, multiple review website also stated that the card have 4 years of warranty when registered...

Really hope a Gigabyte rep can step forward and explain what is going on.

Hi, it might have been a mistake on the OCUK website since it's already corrected.
The 4 year warranty is for Xtreme cards only.
You can see here in the end of Features, right before Core Clock:
http://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TAORUS-X-11GD#kf
But nothing for the non-Xtreme card
http://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TAORUS-11GD#kf

Please let me know which media has wrong information on the review and I'll do my best to reach them and get that corrected.
Sorry about the confusion!

Fair enough - thanks for clearing that up.

I think pretty much the majority of the reviews covering the non-Xtreme Aorus mentioned the 4-years warranty but the first came in mind & from quick google serach: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/gi...raphics-cards-with-11-gbps-gddr5x-memory.html

Gigabyte themselves must have a clearer idea of whom the cards were sent to than I do.

See the 4 years on the Xtreme Box and nothing on the non-extreme. but pretty much look identical =/ Might explain why some XTR owners got the normal one shipped to them

I've registered on the website link given on the 'Aorus Care' flyer that came with the card, but there's no information requested about my card.

Do I just need to register my e-mail address to get the 4 yr warranty?

How did you register if it wasn't with your email? If you want to make sure it's registered then send me a msg and I will ask someone to check it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Apologies - I wasn't clear enough in my query.

I've registered with my e-mail address. But when I've registered a warranty in the past the company/shop usually requires proof of purchase, or a serial number etc.

Apart from registering with my e-mail address, do Gigabyte need any other info? How do they know I've actually bought a card, rather than just a spammer?

I guess you only registered on the website and haven't actually registered the card yet.

Cheers - that link worked. In my defence I'd typed in the link given on the Aorus Care card and assumed that would be it.

Unfortunately I was a couple of days past the 30-day purchase limit, but I put down a purchase date of 5 June and I'll see what I get back. If you can help out with that (or need more info) then that would be excellent!

Just received the 4 year extended warranty - so hopefully that's all sorted :)

Thanks for the link.

thanks, i nearly forgot to do this

and by forget I mean that I didn't know I had 30 days to register, so I too was out of the 30 day period, but luckily got confirmation this morning that I had successfully registered for the 4 years.
