So, i am very excited as today our new dishwasher arrives, have been here 10 years using the good old fashioned sink'n'brush and my scarred hands cant takes no more!

I would like to ask you gentle folk what you think regarding the routing of my dishwashers waste and water tubes - we have a water tap under the sink and a waste there also, and routing should be straight forward but i have two options and can't decide on which - high, or low? Am aware that i should have a "high loop" under the sink so have factored that in to my highly skilled technical drawings below, so..which option would you choose?

Low

Not even sure high would work.

The pipe from your dishwasher will most likely be high. That pipe needs to exit into waste at a lower level or waste water may flow back to the dishwasher.

Your cold feed wont make a difference thats under pressure so whatever is easier

Ideally you want the waste to have a little fall on the pipe

If you picture water in your red pipe what is there to push the water out.

Thanks matty, dishwasher arrives later today so not sure where the waste comes out yet - I did have a Google and would appear to come out at the bottom - not sure how I would get a fall on that! Plus everything i have read says you need a high loop before the sink waste so I was assuming the waste water is pumped out of the dishwasher rather than just having to use mavity?

Its pumped to a point. But once its emptied the dishwasher you really also want the waste pipe to also be empty (as much as it can)

You can buy waste standpipes

You need a high point but you'll need to make sure the exit is lower than the high point

You'll get a horseshoe shaped pipe clip that'll help

OK, so I'll start at the highest point dishwasher side and do a slight fall down to the waste exit..I guess essentially think option 2 above but the waste will slope downward toward the sink waste...
