Typical knee-jerk reaction showing a complete lack of understanding of the technology and the problem.
The thing is, it's not that knee-jerk — it's in their manifesto.
All she's doing is using a terrorist attack to justify policy she already plans to implement.
The outraged public who are just as ignorant about technology as she is will no doubt lap it up.
Someone on Sky saying that it takes 30 police to monitor 1 person for 24 hours, damn no wonder they're complaining about numbers if they're that useless. Why not just contract the work out to a private detective and have 30 extra police walking the streets?
We're potentially sleepwalking into May's wet dream police state.
Lol, pathetic.
She honestly doesn't know what she's doing anymore.
How? There are no police!
Do you seriously think that it takes 1 man with little eye holes cut in a newspaper to monitor someone for a day
Fixed that for you!
Aha, that would imply she perhaps once did.
I hope what she meant was the removal of terrorist material from the internet, not preventing people from accessing it.
The two are very different. The first is a good idea [...] Snip
I spent a few hours recently implementing a new encryption method on our software at work... Am i now on a terrorist watch list?
It's ridiculous that you can have politicians in charge of health, education and science etc. that have no experience in the fields. I think it's probably worse with technology as half the time the policies don't make any sense and also don't even work. For example they have banned certain file sharing websites. But it takes 5 seconds to google proxy to get around it. I there was somebody in charge who had a clue about tech and the internet they wouldn't have even bothered as it was a pointless and ineffective policy.
