Is it difficult & dangerous to drive in the snow with Rear wheel drive car, 200 HP in the winter?

Are sport contact 5s the standard tyre on your average new stock Mondeo or Focus now? ;)

I know the point you are making but you've picked a bad example as for quite some time Fords with larger wheels came with SportContact's irrespective of how sporty they were, GF's Mum has a Fiesta with a 1.4 TDCi engine, factory 16 inch wheels and factory Conti SportContact tyres :D

Drove my Merc 320CLK auto in the heavy snow a couple of years ago and only a large hill was a challenge. My boss stayed at home as he couldn't drive his Diesel Polo.....

Only time I actually got physically stuck home by snow was when I was had my MX-5 and the snow was higher than the bottom of the front bumper :D

That happened to me in the Manta. I was the first person into the work car park, drove up the entrance ramp only to find the snow there was a lot deeper than on the access ramp.
The front airdam wedged into the snow and I was going no further!
