Its beggars belief that americans cant see that gun control does work. Ive been having a discussion about it with some americans on twitter and no matter how many facts you throw at them, they just dont get it. They have a population about 6 times that of the UK, but have a gun homicide rate of well over 100 times that of the UK.

If it turns out that the company didn't allow their staff to be armed, then I'm 100% sure the gun nuts over there will just bleat on about "well, that's what happens when you ban guns", and you'll get Billy-Bob saying

Are you saying if the other employees were armed it would have gone down exactly the same way?

@BigSpender - The US has the highest rate of gun ownership in the world. Of course there is more gun crime than the UK.

Thats right, but americans cant seem to grasp this. They seem to think WE'RE the ones with the problem having no guns

Part of their problem is with guns, everyone has to 1-up each other. Cops get guns so criminals get guns, at least its more likely you will get attacked with a knife than a gun in this country. You at least have a fighting chance rather than a weapon that can kill several people or more in the right (or should that be wrong?) hands.
