hey all, noticed the front passenger tyre has worn down a lot more than the drivers side front. the wear on both tyres is even across the tyre.

alignment was checked last month and needed no adjustments. pressures were even too

what could cause just one tyre to wear more than the other? No uneven wear which is shocking. Looks like one tyre has covered a few thousand miles more.
Car is a 2000 toyota celica

Have you owned it since those tyres were fitted? If not then possible that just one was changed after say 2000 miles due to a puncture (i.e. the other one wasn't changed as both were relatively new)?

yes i have fitted the tyres on the car 3 or 4 years ago. the passenger side tyre is 2mm less on tred across the tyre width compared to the drivers side tyre. very odd.

Will do if you are turning right all the time :p

The tyre with the most load will wear faster, but yeah sounds strange, get your suspension checked over something might be out of line.

I've always found that the nearside front tyre always tends to wear a bit quicker than the offside because it's running in all the rubbish and poorer surfaces at the side of the road. I've not noticed it so much recently, but I now do most of miles on the motorway where in the past when I did a lot of miles on rural roads the effect was very noticeable. I always changed tyres in pairs but there was always a bit of life left in the offside compared to the nearside.

Can't speak for cars, don't drive, bit I work in logistics and can say the near side tyres on trailers (the big 45 foot ones) don't last nearly as long as offside

You need to take into account camber. Technically the road will be higher in the middle (To run off water) meaning more weight on the left hand side. Maybe.. I dunno, i'm just an IT guy. :p

In this situation I'd get someone else to check the alignment. If it really does look like it's done thousands of miles more, then someone has made a mess.
