Air cooler Ryzen 5 1600

i think your find the wrath cooler will equal a cheap cooler, if not better, other than that spend more on the cooler because its it one of them most important items of a build that you do not have to keep upgrading! Why cheap out on the cooler ?

Overclocked to 3.7Ghz my 1700 maxes out in the low 50's C using the stock Wraith Spire Cooler. For anything up to that level it is fine. Only when you start having to up the voltage rapidly will it run at out headroom. From memory my 1700 is running at 1.2v

I accidently overclocked it to 4.0Ghz once which luckily I spotted before I started doing anything CPU intensive. At this point the voltage is much higher and you need a better cooling solution to keep temps down.

As stated, wrath cooler is not a bad little cooler.
I think of a good cooler as an investment that can be used for many many years on 2, 3 or more builds. Like already stated it's one of the few components in a build that does not need upgrading if done right the first time. Im still using the first heatpipe CPU cooler I bought .. and that was like 10 - 11 years ago. I hd to upgrade the mount and did change fans, not because fan went bad but because I wanted something different. ;)

Thanks doyll - why people skimp on cooler quality is beyond me, same goes for the psu which is the heart of the system, pumping electric instead of blood

Exactly!

I will skimp almost anywhere but cooler and PSU.

Case is also a good place not to skimp. A well designed case (good airlfow) can be used just as long as good cooler and PSU.

What temps do you get with your cooler, I was looking at one of those.
using aida64 from idle can be low as 16 to 67 stress and it is soooooooooooooooooooo quite!

while its cruising -
