So, I finally moved from Tmobile to 4G on EE. My package is supposed to be the max speed but I wanted to know who are or have been on EE, how can you tell? What speeds should I be expecting in speed test or other methods? Also I believe my phone is compatible? Moto G4.

Many thanks for any input

speedtest.net is usually a good way to test actual speeds.

Depending on network and hardware theoretical max speeds are 100-150MBit/s IIRC but realistically in most places you'll max out around half that (anywhere half decent I usually see around 50-60MBit/s down, 20-25MBit/s up) and IIRC EE's network average is 14-15MBit/s download. Some places you might struggle to even hit 1MBit others you might see 70Mbit/s.

Here are some speed tests I've done:

Do you think these are okay for 4G max speeds (real world?). Bearing in mind these are within London strong signal area.

Also it's a 15gb package.

Thanks

This is mine on three and in bournemouth.

Good thing i am on unlimited data i use around 50-100gb a month.

There we go i like doing these speed test things just to compare.

Sorry about it not being on topic but am on three but i do have a mobile on ee with 16gb useage limit.

Thanks for the info. Seems like I'm getting less than what it states really for d/l speeds although upload speeds are there (but not really any use for me). Might see how it goes over next day or two and will give them a call

In and around Central London, I often see great speeds:

Never seen those kind of speeds - think the most I've seen is 79Mbit/s or 97Mbit/s or something (that includes testing with EE, O2, GG and Voda). - most of the time my experience falls like those posted by mithrandir above.

On BT mobile but they use the EE network, and I think they're limited to the slower 4G speeds:

This is within Central London around Chinatown.

Fastest I had on EE 4G was 138Mbps down and 37 up but it varies quite a lot.
Same here regarding how much it varys.

I did two speed tests recently and i got 30 to 40 mbps download on ee but the upload remains at 20mbps on average this is good if you want to upload.

Three on average gives me like 10mbps upload and 20mbps download but with three you see i have unlimited amount of data to use.

Indeed compared to home broadband i agree it isn't bad at all.

I don't want to sound like ee as being the fastest download because it is the same regarding compareing ee with three both in the house in bh9 postcode bournemouth i got 40mbps down on both so thats good, three and ee got 40mbps down yeah since i tested both at the same time.

But as he said the download/upload mobile signal can vary by quite a bit and many other factors come into play there.

I also like the tethering option gives me 17mbps down on wifi paired with a ps4 downloading an update which is faster than his adsl + 2 @ roughly 3mbps down (brother).

But when someone calls the service goes back to 3g when it should be on 4g i have experienced that in the past with three as well as ee.

It's up to and shared. Your speed test results are normal.

I have a moto g4 plus on a three sim card so yeah

My pings on three are a bit higher compared to pings on ee but i get around about 20-50-60 or 70 mbps or a bit higher on three that is.

But i have a htc desire 530 on ee i will look into it (speed test)

I think the moto is a good champion in the budget arena of £200.
