Curious to read what people think especially for those who have a pretty good PC already.

Xbox one x looks amazing for its value and personally I prefer microsoft/xbox in every way (especially their controller!) to sony's platform/PS 4 except one thing..... exclusives, to me the PS 4 still looks to have the better exclusives.

One good thing with the new xbox is that it should also mean that the ps 4 pro will get a lot more love than what it has been getting lately:

Which in return for PC gamers should also hopefully mean graphically better games and possibly better use of PCs hardware especially with the new 6/8 core CPUs or possibly games will get even more demanding on the PC due to optimization issues.....

So what the equivalent graphics card you would need on PC to match the Xbox One X a 1080TI?

Until the xbox one x is out along with games specifically tailored for it, no way of knowing.

I imagine when both are using the same settings, you definitely won't need that GPU though, certainly not for 30 fps anyway considering a 1080ti is easily capable of 4k @ 60 fps in 8/10 games already...... For 4k @ 30 fps and max settings on the PC, you would need something around a 480/580/1060.

If a game isn't as well optimised for the PC as what it should be then no doubt, you will need something more powerful than the xbox one x gpu though.

We desperately need some side by side video game clips, namely Pro Vs X1X.

Until now nobody really knows what its capable of. I need to compare it to something for it to wow me. Specs on a sheet dont do it justice. MS done a bad job of selling the X1X.

Well the one obvious change to come out of this is from November onwards, comparison videos are gonna be PC vs X1X. Pro has held that crown for a while.

I think people who are already PC gamers probably dont need an XB1X due to most of the new releases also being available on PC as well. Ease of use is a factor but its just as easy to plug your PC into your TV as well.

I quite fancy one but having a decent PC with a 1080ti and an X34 monitor its easier for me to stick with PC gaming as I dont have a 4k TV to benefit from the XB1X.

PC will still be better looking as well, due to the fact that, yes, the Xbox may be running at 4k resolution but those settings all wont be on max. It may well be 4k/medium settings yet.

It doesn't really change anything.

Sony have the the software, Microsoft could have a console 4 or even 5 times more powerful, it's irrelevant if the games aren't on it.

As someone who also has a half decent PC, it's completely pointless.

With the Xbox 360 controller on the PC, I cannot get to grips with it. It feels weird compared to the DualShock 4 with Elite sticks.

Wonder if I should get the black Xbox One controller or the Elite but the Elite wont work on Windows 7. :/
Granted I could boot into Windows 10.

Elite controller is my all time favourite. Its a very nice controller and the choice of stick length and changeable back panels are great.

The XB1 standard pads are trash, quality wise, compared to the 360 pads. I had a 360 pad that lasted me 8 years and was still perfect when I retired it. I went through 5 XB1 pads in a little over 2 years and they all failed in the same way. The sticks went and it would pull to one side. They are not built to last like the 360 ones were.

How are the rumble motors compared to all 3 Xbox pads? If it is one thing I miss on PC gaming is the lack of force feedback through keyboard and mouse. Granted pads are rubbish for shooters but I still love the rumble. :o

Er, how heavy handed are you? I've had a single pad since the One was released and it's still immaculate, and i've played thousands of hours.

As for the X itself, it offers plenty that a PC can't. UHD (at least the last time I checked), 360 and OG BC, third party games like Red Dead 2. All for £449.

I get the argument that if you have a decent gaming PC an X is pointless, that's not strictly true, it's down to your own personal needs. I don't think they're targeting this market anyway.

As for comparison to PS4 pro, they both offer a different experience, both have pros and cons.

Quite heavy handed but that should not be the point should it? Ive got a few mates who have had the same problem and Ive never had issues before all throughout my console buying life. They are not built to last like they should or used to be. Never had issues with the DS4 either.

I dont think its pointless if you have a decent gaming PC but not as essential as it would be if you did not own one. Those who HAVE a gaming PC and only want one console would maybe be better getting a PS$ as theres a lot more games they would not get to play otherwise.

That's simply not true, you must be chucking them about.

I've had 6 Xbox One controllers, 2 DS4's , 4 360 controllers and they've all been rock solid. The 360 pad feels like a duplo toy when you go back to one after the X1 pad.

The DS4 feels the more fragile of the lot.

The DS3 were incredibly flimsy feeling and creaked constantly, yet still never broke.

Microsoft were very open about the extreme testing that the X1 pads go through, with a simulated 2 million button presses to identify any potential wear issues. Anyone that manages to break them is either very unlucky or extremely heavy handed.

I have 6 friends who own XB1s and they all on thier 3rd controller due to pretty much the same problems. Good for you if yours have been OK but to say its not true isnt right. I can comment on what I know and I know everyone says the same thing. Ive had the same conversation with a few different game shop employees as well and they all agree, saying they get plenty of people trying to return them or having to buy new.

The action buttons certainly look it.

Yeah but it is mainly L2 + R2 that feels iffy.

I wore out a spring on R2. Too much F1: Championship Edition in 2007 - 08.

Yeh as others have said if you have a high end PC the Pro may be a better buy. I have a 1070, a Pro and an OG Xbone I'm thinking about skipping the X one X and getting Oculus Rift or something.

Yeah absolutely i'd agree with that, the sweet spot would be gaming PC and a PS4, I don't have a gaming PC anymore so it's easy for me, PS4 OG and Xbox X :) (trying to justify a Pro, will probably get one when TLOU2 comes out)
