Hey,
I was looking for a bit of advice in dealing with a neighbor (without involving his letterbox)
Background:
I rent a flat, the neighbor in question has a ground floor property which joins the building my flat is in.
He has a door to access the stair to access the garden, even though there's another door he had put in which leads directly to the garden.
Now he's the guy who heads up the homeowners association and he seems to have taken a particular dislike of smokers.
He's posted some 'rules' in the stairwell for smokers, I can't remember the wording so I'll summarize:
Don't smoke in the stair (That's fine by me)
Don't smoke immediately outside the door, or near ground floor windows (also fine)
No going out to smoke after 2200 (WTF does this guy think he's on?!)
Now I don't smoke, but what kind of ridiculousness is trying to stop right of access to leaving the building at certain times?
Obviously he has no authority on this, but I'm trying to find the best way to call him out.
One of the smokers in our stair said he approached them when they were outside (well away from the building by the bin) and he said that they should 'have their last cigarette at 2200, then not smoke till the next day as the door to the stair wakes him up'....... IMO that's his problem, get ear plugs.
This guy's attitude just gets on my nerves and I'd like to resolve this in some reasonable way.
