So I've just updated my Wife's GPU to a 1070 and I'm sat here sorting out settings.
We have her PC hooked up to our 4k Bravia and because the 1070 isn't 4k territory I'm trying to set up a 1440p resolution but whenever I do, I cannot have 60hz, it reverts to 30hz.
If I jump the res to full fat 4k or 1080p it allows the 60hz option.

I'm bamboozled. Please Help?

Some TV's wont do 1440p 60hz. Each TV is different. Just stick with 1080p

Some games will let you use scaling so you can set output to 4K 60Hz and in game change scaling to about 75% or so.

On my 4K Samsung KS7000 I have to enable UHD Color in the TV settings for the input I am using. I think also in Nvidia display settings under resolution I picked RGB and Full.

I belive you will also need a minimum of a V1.4b HDMI cable?

If I set it to 1440p, even at 30fps the colour shifts green. Looks like my TV does not support that res.

So then I've set my desktop back to 4k and now when I launch games in 1080p the colours are massively oversaturated.

Time to reinstall nvidia drivers I think.

I'm having a lot of brightness/gamma shift in my HTPC (RX 480) when switching resolutions/refresh rates which is a big pain being a gaming/media machine which constantly switches from 60 to 24 to 50hz.

Sounds like a similar issue, if I set the res to 4k the colours are fine, soon as I pop it to 1080p it's like the colour slider goes up to maximum!
