Finsbury Park Van Attack

It's sad that when something like this happens you have certain people saying "look, look, we get terrorist attacks too!" - as if that somehow makes things even? It's ridiculous. It needs to be stamped out - whoever is doing it, not used as some sort of defence (for lack of a better word).

Completely agree. It's quite sickening how fast some people have been to jump on this as a deflection for other attacks (not necessarily on here - just commenting in general).

It's horrible to justify any attack but I don't think that's what people are saying (hopefully not anyway). Terrorism happens from both sides. I do agree that Islam has a bigger proportion of terrorist and something needs to be done.

It's just a shame that the people who say 'where are all the Muslims protesting' ... 'why arnt any Muslims speaking out' 'why didn't any of their family report anything' don't see any irony now.

The media ... As shown above.... Have been stirring a pot for years. They've had their narrative set years ago and just carried on running with the story. They want social unrule / a war. Just look at the sun egging on Gibraltar with spain
Disgusting papers.

Anyway... There is no point attacking innocents. What did they ever do? He's just as bad as any ISIS terrorist in my eyes.

The media love stuff like this happening. As far as the likes of the Daily Mail are concerned, the more terrorist attacks and disasters, the better. It also fits well into the 24 hour news narrative we have these days.

It's really quite awful but I can't see that changing. I think the best example of it is the headline in the black box that's always on the front page of the Daily Mail website. It comes across as if they are loving it, and has ever since the Manchester attack, one ridiculous headline after another.

Indeed, also we haven't seen the equivalent of the victim blaming 'western foreign policy' argument re: 'muslims' somehow bringing this upon themselves. Flipping things around can tend to highlight when certain arguments or statements are dubious.

The van used. Isn't it about time we stop these extremists?

Can I ask where this news is from. I can't find the story or info.

Thought there would be a proper pic considering there were a few camera phones out in the video I saw.

Sorry hadn't looked at the thread for a while.
I wasn't getting on very well with Bing, so here it is on Google Maps:

If you spin the camera around, you can see Seven Sisters Road and the bus lane he approached from.
Like I said, it's a very tight turning.

Thanks. Interesting, though sad, to see the actual location.

It’s the latest tactic to totally ignore the scale and frequency to pretend everything’s equal. It’s like saying a football match that ends 10:1 is draw because both sides scored.

It's ridiculous. It needs to be stamped out - whoever is doing it, not used as some sort of defence (for lack of a better word).

Islam should have been reined-in years ago, but instead we tolerated ourselves right into soldiers on the street. I dread to think what other changes to society will be necessary just to manage the growing presence of Islam.

And if they were just reporting that in an objective manner, then no it wouldn't be, but peddling hate filled bile and lies is stirring things up
Some outlets will play it up, others will play it down, but it doesn't change the fact that the problems are there, and becoming ever more apparent.

But most of that is true though, you only have to visit Chatham or Margate to see how badly Migration has affected the town. And this is coming from someone who actually lived there all those years ago compared to now, so yes I have a first hand account.

Oh and don't get me started on boot fairs :/

Reporting Islamic dysfunction is not stirring up hate.

I see none of you pointing out jewish dysfunction nor hindu dysfunction nor sikh dysfunction. Most of those critical of Islam here in this forum ONLY pick on Islam.

THIS is the exact problem we have in this country. There are outdated laws which prohibit the demonisation of all three of them religions here in the UK whilst just a 'generic' one fits for other religions (I'm talking about both christianity and Islam here).

WE Muslims and christians can be consistently and unfairly attacked and demonised by the press - Coming back to Robbo's point above. It's quite simple - make the media tow the line fairly. THEY are the ones who should be held to account for giving hate preachers the platforms they need to spread their bigotted hatred. We hear more from these idiots than the average person who comprises 99.9% of the population (from whichever background).

It's been proven over and over again in the likes of America for example where on average there are over 300+ attacks from white supremacists as opposed to just 20 or 30 from muslims. Yet the media feed this narrative that Islam is the cause of the worlds issues. DOUBLE STANDARDS are quite prevalent when it comes to religion.

ISIS have killed more muslims than any other people on this planet - YET they are still equated to being a part of Islam by the general media (you note they never use the term khawarij which is what us muslims call ISIS). Mr Murdoch and his cronies need a good kick up their arses for what they are doing to our country. People need to wake up and stop buying into this crap they are feeding us.

Muslims are not asking for special treatment - just fair and equal treatment. A prime example of this was today a reporter asking one of the imaams if we muslims want 'special protection'. His response was perfect. NO - we don't want special protection in mosques - we can look after ourselves. Allow us to have security groups like the jewish community already have that work with the local authority and police services closely - ALL WE ASK IS FOR YOU TO BE FAIR. EQUALITY

Has the deffintion of terrorism evolved now so that anyone doing anything is a terrorist.

Is this guy really a terrorist? What political body is he identified with? In whose name has he claimed his attack?

I don't get it anyone care to explain?
