How sad that our freedom of speech has been destroyed in this country.
Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom from the consequences of what you say. This individual is perfectly entitled to his opinion however odious it is but repeating it in public is not acceptable.

Have an odd one with this - I know someone who in conversation/sort of private says some of the most odious and vitriolic things ever about foreigners regardless of colour and non-whites - but would be the first one to hire someone like that if they were the most qualified for a job and show them no discrimination in day to day stuff, etc. and has both donated considerable amounts (in excess of 5 figures) to foreign charitable stuff, etc. and done some charitable work abroad - can't get my head around it LOL.

(Literally would bend over backwards to help someone in the street and 5 minutes later say some of the most horrific things you could imagine about them due to their race).

Whose freedom of speech is being impinged upon? Inciting hate and violence is not legal, whether or not you think it should be.

I wonder what his dad makes of it, given his son is basically suggesting his dad's vans be used to run people over.

Finsbury Park......Wasn't this the place where Abu Hazma preached hate as the Imam ?
Yeah, and all the posters going on about freedom of speech defended him too.

Oh no, wait, they differentiated his hate on the basis of race. What's that called again?

Threads related to terrorism and Islam will always go off topic, because there is so much to debate, so much complexity, history and so many different viewpoints.

As per OCUK tradition in threads like this. People have died and we have pages dedicated to whether or not Islam is a race or not. Boring.

Many other areas that could provide useful insight and debate about the religion but you lot just want to focus on dictionary definitions.

Well this seems to have gone off topic again...

Yes it does - unfortunately if it happens again then it may as well be locked - people have been warned, people have been thread banned and still the nonsense continues.

Whilst I appreciate that to be the case, there are only so many times we can go round and round discussing the same arguments. Unfortunately it's always the same group of posters who seem to jump onboard every thread to post the same tired debates.

Videos appearing on facebook of another attack last night but this time at Regent's Park Mosque last night.

Apparently a suspect was tasered and arrested after he attempted to attack muslims at the night time prayer.

:(

I have a feeling things will only get worse from here on in.

Absolutely no point in tit for tat revenge attacks from both sides. It doesn't solve the issues we are facing as a society.

And no banning Islam isn't the answer as many of you in here would like to see implemented.

If muslims could once collectively hold up their hands and take some form of responsibility for those who do commit terror in the name of Islam i.e. those people who happen to attend the same mosques, read from the same book and pray to the same god, then perhaps incidents such as this wouldn't occur?

Muslims have this notion that it's never anything to do with them. Sorry, but there must be people in the Islamic community (besides the fanatics) who know who the bad eggs are, after all the fanatics are part of the Islamic community and often are living the lives of ‘moderate’ muslims - right up until they blow themselves up; or are shot/detained after carrying out atrocities. In such closely knit communities, I find it extremely difficult to believe that no-one knows any form of premeditated intent from the attackers.

Put a stop to the constant blame dodging, flush the radicals out and perhaps there might be more respect & trust towards the religion.

Did you seriously say the whole community should take responsibility? Do you as part of the community take responsibility for the Muppet from Cardiff in his van?

Your post is part of the very reason that the Muslim community struggles to deal with the radicals ie they all get tarred with the same brush, feel hated and marginalised so draw together into what they know and don't trust anybody. You post is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on this forum the blanketing of all Muslims as a single cohesive entity is frankly ridiculous you wouldn't do it with a white British community would you?
