ES File Explorer Replacement

Hi All,

I'm after a replacement for ES File Explorer as it just seems to keep having more and more bloaty crap added to it with every release.

The core features of the app tick every box I want, however all the useless extra stuff is getting too much now.

Has anyone made the switch?

Changed to Solid Explorer a while ago. Does everything you want a file explorer to do.

Just go back to older version, I too was getting sick of ads, so installed 3.2.5.5 and nice and ad free

I use an older version too. I used ZipSigner to change the signature to stop it updating.

I moved to Solid when ES started to bloat. Never looked back.

How do you mean? I can access my NAS from it.

It's not very intuitive. From the Storages section tap the 3 dots, then Storage Manager, then the + in the clrcle at the bottom of the page and take it from there. You will often find yourself lost when copying files from one drive to another or to another device.

I've got the paid for version of Solid Explorer and use my modified older version of ES Explorer by choice.

Use Solid Explorer on my phone but on my tablet have ES File Explorer Pro which seems a lot less bloated than the non-Pro version

Much better use of money to buy solid explorer than ES pro. ES pro is just an older version of the app and it doesn't really get updated.

+1 to Solid. I like the UI which you can customise and it's very Material UI. You can flip the phone to landscape and then have two panes which makes copy/pasting pretty easy. Have all my cloud storage (Google drive, onedrive, dropbox, etc) added as well and is easy to access.

I also have the FTP addon which allows me to access the phone from my PC wirelessly.

I'm using Total Commander at the moment. It's free and seems to work pretty nicely without any crap.

Pro was on offer a while back on the 10p discount. Haven't needed to look elsewhere tbh
