best bang for buck. 1060 3GB, 1060 6GB or 1070?

I'd look around for a decent 6gb 1060 deal, Last week we had an Asus model which was £220, it also came with 2 games. The same card today is £290 which sucks, so the best thing to do is hunt for a deal.

Check the thread I just made with 1060, 1070 and 1080 prices restored to normal with use of voucher codes to prevent miners buying them all.

What is the big deal with miners now buying all these cards?

Are they making money out of it or something I don't understand why it's now a big craze when mining has been around for 20 years.

Because at the moment its very profitable and has being for past couple of months and now governments are backing it and values are increasing as is stability and as such there are huge mining farms in some countries are are buying thousands of cards, the more machines mining, the more cash they make. China and Russia has gone totally insane depleting the worlds stock.

They are so crazy they are now starting to purchase 1080Ti to mine on, because that is all that is left in volume, some are even buying the lower-end stuff like 1050Ti and RX 560, because something is better than nothing.

Worse case scenario is in July there is zero VGA card for consumer to buy worldwide, hopefully this won't happen as NVIDIA/AMD are back upto full production. Its caused an issue because Q2 is typically the quietest time of year for VGA sales so production is reduced, however Q2 this year is busier than Q4 was.

Problem is - how can you tell they have been used 24/7 on mining? Any tell tale signs? Seller may say no its just been used for gaming.

that is the risk you take with anything second hand. like i said if they flood the market with second hand ones they will drop in price to stupidly low levels anyway that it mitigates any risk.

supply > demand whereas just now demand > supply

all it needs to take is a hike in electricity prices and a lowering on mining profits

also you can look to see if they are selling multiple cards. that is a tell tale sign. someone only selling 1 card is likely to just be a gamer
