strong beers you have tried

Not tried that one (OP) or the Tactical Nuclear Penguin, wouldn't waste my money. I prefer normal beers, preferably Belgian. Delirium does a nice Blonde ale I think which is 8.5% an St Bernadus also do a 12% both are nice and smooth and have a lot of flavour.

Had a bottle of Tactical Nuclear Penguin a good few years ago. Once is enough.

Got a bottle of Sink the Bismarck on the shelf.

Strongest I have had is Duvel and McEwans Champion. I think they're about the same strength as tramp juice, but actually taste like beer.

Brewmeister got into a bit of bother for wildly overestimating their ABV. Also, they added spirit to it to boost it up. Your proper strong beers are made from freezing the original beer and removing the water.

I've tried Sink The Bismark which is 41%. It's a sipping drink, you wouldn't drink the bottle yourself obviously. Interesting flavour, and quite nice. Wouldn't have it again to be honest (rather a malt) but worth trying.

Had a beer called Skullsplitter at a local beer festival some years ago. It was ~10% and tasted ****.

I think we later crafted an 'atomic' snakebite, mixing it with Old Rosie cider (might have been Black Rat). That was even worse.

This thread reminds me that I made a 16% cider once. I took a few bottles to a party. I ended up on a motorway. My friend ended up arrested, with no shoes or shirt and no idea where he was. We binned the rest.

Chimay Bleu is my favourite followed by Gulden Draak 9000. Give them a try. About 9 and 11 % respectively. Strong enough that a few bottles will have you on your way.
