looking for a GPU to finish off a ryzen 1600 build.

i know that u cant buy an AMD card for love nor money and that the prices have rocketed as well.

thing is should i just buy a cheap used or new card for the sake of having the pc built and running while waiting for the amd cards to come back in stock and prices to lower and or wait for the new amd cards or should i go for a 1060??

ive been thinking about the 1060 however i dont play much pc games and the ones i do are car games and the children play the likes of cs:go, overwatch etc so im not sure if i can justify the price of the 1060 ATM, esp if the AMD cards drop back to the prices they were a month or 2 back.

too many decisions

Prices have gone silly at the moment if you dont wanna spend to much then the 1050ti is a good option but is it powerful enough for you ?

Could get a second hand 970 and hope to sell for the same when they are back in stock. Also the 980 if you want to spend a little more.
i was actually looking at a used 980. however after not using pcs for light gaming etc over the last 3 years or so im unsure how well they compare to the latest cards atm.

the 1050ti i think would be a waste and end up being replaced sooner rather than later going by some reviews i have read.

as i said i dont mind waiting for a few weeks to see if the amd cards restock however i fear that they will still be ridiculously priced when they do reappear???

The 980 is a little faster than a 1060, but uses more power and therefore gives off more heat. You would also expect the 1060 to improve as drivers are improved whilst the 980 will largely stay the same.

If you are going to replace, I would go second hand as you won't be taking on the depreciation. A 980 ti would be a good choice which would be faster than a 1060 providing you could get it for the right price. Obviously you take more risk with no warranty etc. A 970 would almost be a decent stop gap.
