Delivery of parts signed for but never arrived!

I bet the driver signed that

I always sign my 3 initials. That way if its signed any other way I know its rubbish.

Neil Our DPD driver is a top bloke. He's going to love me tomorrow. Hes got 9 parcels to drop off at ours tomorrow..(he gets paid per parcel)

Yeah I've got it now, thank the pc gods, haha!

It was signed for by "Hillier" and no drop in card was there, they just went straight 4 doors down and delivered it there for some stupid reason. Someone was in all day etc, happy I got it but will be requesting a postage refund as that's not acceptable from dpd

I've had that exact same thing happen while I was in. No card, no delivery, checked online to find a picture of my neighbours front door about five houses down. It turned out the driver had a few deliveries on my road, and rather than move his van about, just parked in one place, delivered my package to someone closer, rather than walk for 20 seconds. Didn't bother to ring my bell or leave a card.

I complained to DPD, escalated it a couple of times. DPD were useless, but it's not happened again.

Most couriers are a mixed bag. It largely depends on your driver. Again, depots are a mixed bag, depends on the manager, situation and ethos.

It does seem to be that way. DPD have always been great for me and I've never even had an issue with Yodel. MyHermes on the other hand are a joke. Amazon logistics have been useless too until recently when I got an eastern european chap who seems to be diligent and actually does his job rather than toss it in a dumpster or run off or whatever they usually do with them. (The PlayStation3 that never arrived despite saying "delivered" 10 minutes after it left the depot (the depot is 40 miles away) still smarts.)

Demand royal mail special delivery!

If you are not in it gets taken to a local depot that is actually 'local' were you can pick it up in person.

My local DPD depot is like a 90 mile round trip and im not even sure you can go there and get your item.

Just recently I had purchased a camera lens through the Rainforest, and when I checked after it had not appeared, it had been delivered by UPS to one of their agents across town. No parking there, obviously. And no card was left. And they didn't bother taking it to the Rainforest locker place right nearby.

Royal Mail / Parcelforce and DPD are the only decent deliverers around here, and I'm delighted that OCUK use DPD.

Were the neighbours actually planning on giving you the parcel ?

Bit late to the party i know. But if i was in that neighbours position i would have assumed DPD had left a note to say where it was delivered to. If the receiver hadn't been around to collect it in a few days, then i'd have popped round, but typically would have kept an eye out for him anyway.

The amount of drops these guys do per day is insane.

Most of the keyboard warriors here would struggle to get out of their leather chair, never mind deliver a few parcels :p

*says me sat in pyjamas with coffee on desk.

TBF i used to do deliveries before i had to stop working and the hardest part of the job is actually learning your route. once you know where u are going 110+ parcels a day is easy peasy

Doesn't the device that they make you sign with have a built in GPS?

If it does - it should show the time and area where the delivery was signed for.

You can track their drivers - so you would hope that they could pinpoint the area within a few meters of where they delivered the package.

Just a thought - maybe worth enquiring as if the GPS shows it wasn't signed for anywhere near you house they may help you more...

Not always.

My delivery today had a delivery estimate of 6am to 10pm O_o not the usual hour slot.

Turns out the driver just had a peice of paper and no gun device. Also he gave me a parcel for someone else, I didnt notice as was on the phone when he came, was expecting a parcel so just took off him, then I opened it to get a vodafone broadband router instead of my GT 1030 :), rang DPD and he came back with my parcel and I gave him the other back.

So DPD can mess up. Sadly DPD has messed up for me on one other occasion also.

yes ofc they can mess up, we all can. 0600-2200 is a crazy timescale for a delivery. i presume there was no live tracking of the parcel???

chances are he may well have been an agency driver not knowing what hes doing????

I have never had a problem with DPD delivering for OCUK, but I have had issues with other sites,

Most notable is the time they managed to lose the exercise bike I ordered,
It was out for delivery but the van broke down, it never seemed to make it back to the depot!

They were pretty useless on the phone and said they couldn't really do anything about it,
Amazon were much more helpful and got me a replacement sent out the next day!

yep as I said no gun. its the gun that gets tracked.

They didnt mark the parcel as delivered until 11pm.
