He specifically said they are not "old" drivers as per the internet rumour. They have a lot of optimisations.

Because the drivers he is using are NOT old drivers, they are the most recent drivers, the ones on the AMD website (he just confirmed that, the best ones available from AMD) he was not talking about the crimson drivers within this driver package, which is what everyone is questioning...

"Expect no performance delta between Gaming and Pro mode. Shipping driver is current, but is not comparable to RX Vega driver."
PCPer Ryan quoting AMD
He also said it's indicative of RX performance within margin of error. He said there could be zero to 8 to 10 per cent improvement for the RX

At least Ryan Shout says it has very good build quality!! :p

I really really really like the look of the card as well. pity it's a meh cooler, averaging 83 degrees.

But people are so desperate for even a little bit of information on Vega that they're going to take these results as gospel, even if they're not representative of the final product!

AMD's fault for funky launch

And rightfully so because AMD aren't giving minimal info, so they somewhat deserve this

LOL, Timespy performed less than a 1070.

this is just a distater for AMD. I know perofmrnace may be very differnet for RX Vega, but this is what AMD is wanting everyone to know right now. How many headlines will be cerated form PCper's results.

Which could make or break, as 8-10% can be big on average, specially since the card seems to averaging a clock of 1440Mhz according to their log.

Pants reference cooler, but it looks nice.

True but its not as if people are going to ignore reviews of the RX card when it launches. Plus with amd stating numerous times now this isn't for gamers, hopefully there's something in it :)

They shouldn't have released the FE first. Now everyone will review it and tarnish the RX reputation before it's even been released. It's not as if many people reading about FE have any interest in buying it. The majority are waiting for RX, but people are going to see FE review and then buy Nvidia products instead. AMD - why do you screw up like this at every release?

Yep they have screwed up big time somewhere along the line, so at least on this card the lower than Fiji IPC is confirmed... Which is definitely not a good situation, even if the RX is better, they will end up losing the little mindshare they have.

I think that has something to do with pleasing the pesky shareholders... They delayed it as long as they could (1 day before the end of H1 lol...)
