Spec me a 40th birthday present

It's my 40th birthday in just over a months time and my wife is nagging me for ideas for a present. She wants to give me something to keep so an event type present is out the window. I've also got six watches and don't need another one. And I'm having an imagination failure. Any ideas folks?

I appreciate the significance of both. But outright dismissing the option of an experience because it somehow makes it less of an event seems odd. An experience would be more of an event.

A memory of eg lovely 40th trip to Paris/Venice etc (whatever budget and preference) would be something you'd remember and talk about for years. I can't imagine in 20 years time you'll really remember too much of an expensive pen tucked away in a draw somewhere.
