Corsair ML fans vs Gentle Typhoon

So I'm planning an upgrade and thinking I'll sort out some niggling issues/take advantage of ripping my system apart and upgrade a few bits.

One of the minor problems I noticed is that one of my 6 120mm 1850 gentle typhoon fans (running about 900rpm via fan controller) is sounding like the bearings are wearing out/worn and it might be time to replace them.

About 6 months ago I pulled the fans out of the system to clean all the dust off and I lubricated the bearings as best as possible with some silicon spray but it didn't seem to help. (I did the exact same thing on my dad's system a while back and his psu fan went from sounding like a meat grinder to near silence).

So I've been reading up on the best fans and it seems the magnetic "bearings" of the corsair ml series are the ones to get as they have exceptional static pressure and cfm along with quiet operation.

Has anyone got any thoughts on this, and/or done the upgrade from gentle typhoons to corsair ml fans?

I haven't tried the gentle typhoon fans, but having used beQuiet and Noctua fans before - the Corsair ML are as good if not better for air flow vs noise level. They also have an excellent PWM speed range from as low as 450rpm upto ~2000rpm.

For me I'd buy them again, and not that badly priced when buying the twin packs.

Other than it's using magnetic bearing which is really great, the wide PWM range from 400 to 2400 is really one of the features that ML owners really like.

I have used both. The GT version I used was Darkside 2150rpm pwm. The GT fans seem to be a tad quieter, it's not really meassurable by dcb unit but the general high pitch air passing noise at high rpm seems to be more "comfortable". I don't really know how to describe it.
