What electric shaver should go for - rotary or foil?

I have used a foil shaver ever since I started shaving 10 years ago. My trusty Braun recently died on me, and now I'm thinking whether I should get another foil shaver, or try a rotary one.

Right now i am using Remington shaver.

Having never used a rotary before, I've no idea whether they're as good as or better than foil shavers. Are they?? What's the difference in shaving quality between a foil shaver and a rotary?

Reason why I always fancied foil shavers more is that a straight mesh covers the whole area you shave over..., whereas on rotaries you have three circles spaced apart, and so with gaps in between it would be more awkward to get as even a shave as with foil shavers... right? Or am I wrong?

Finally, can anyone recommend a good buy? Having flicked through the Argos catalogue, I narrowed it down to these three... although I'm welcome to other suggestions:

1) Remington 'Dualfoil' MS2200 (Foil)
2) Philips 'HQ 7100 (Rotary)
3) Philips 'Super Reflex' HQ 6645 (Rotary)

Overall I prefer my foil shaver as it's a lot smoother and doesn't knick you. The rotary is good for 3/4 day stubble which has grown too long for the foil.

There was a massive thread on here about shavers a few months back. It's probably worth seeking out.

Using a Braun 9095CC, epic machine, charging dock cleans it too (can charge from a normal socket if needed).

NB: The blue bit is gold now.

I tried a rotary and it ruined my face. Felt like it was tearing my face apart. Gave me bad rash.

Foil convert here
Had a couple of rotary shavers but was never able to shave on consecutive days due to irritation
Currently using a Braun 9291 week days and it's the smoothest electric shave I've had

You'd have to try them really - some people get on better with one than the other depending on their hair type and shaving style, etc.
