Happy Pride Weekend!

As a straight man, it's honestly one of the most fun things I've ever done. The atmosphere is amazing, everyone's in a good mood, there's zero hostility, the stand up shows outside the pubs by the "ladies" are usually absolutely hilarious, it really is a fantastic day out, I highly recommend it. You do need to be 100% secure with your sexuality though.
oh I agree but It wouldn't be a first thing on my mind on a saturday haha.

I feel the same way about it as I would about a white pride event. I'm "qualified" for both, since I'm in both of those "correct" biological groups.

I don't give a rat's arse whether people who think being in the "right" biological group is a source of pride do so in robes with solemn rituals or half-naked with dancing. It's the biological group pride thing that disgusts me, not the style they do it in. To hell with them and their biological group identity ("community") drivel. I reject their community. I am not part of it, no matter how much they declare that I am because of my biology. I also don't give a rat's arse which variants of the same ideology are fashionable in any particular time and place - the ideology is fundamentally wrong regardless of how fashionable it is.

I'm proud that I'm not one of them and I'm happy about that.
It's not pride of being, it's pride of expressing.

And if you can't understand why that's important, then you need to think a bit more deeply

Happy pride people have fun for me I think I'll be lucky to get to any this year due to work. It's a crying shame since it's the first year I'm single :D

I'm pretty sure it's a different kind of pride for different people. Every football fan that travels is proud of their team, but they don't all exercise that pride from throwing glasses in each others faces

Aren't we talking gay (etc) pride here?

It was an analogy between the generally less appreciated aspects of both pride and football supporters (scantily clad mincers vs hooligans). No one has a beef with the rest of the troupe from each camp.

It isn't about you, could do with less negativity in these sorts of threads if this was a Ramadan thread posts like that would have likely been deleted

I didn't say it was about me did i though , it's a bit rich coming from you the Mr negative of the forums.

You said you didn't see the point - so what, it isn't about you, why does it matter if you see the point? If you don't see the point you've got no reason to post in the thread wishing people a happy pride weekend. I'd wager you'd not try the same nonsense in a Ramadan thread.

It's mad being a white hetrosexual atheist working taxpayer in the UK as i'm a minority yet i just get on with it. However, have fun rainbow people.......
