OcUK Curborough Sprint Circuit - Monday 24th July 2017

Yes just meet at the track. Official running is allowed to begin at 10am. I'll be getting there for before 9am or so.

I will allow for a few to go round slowly to help clean the surface.

This time can we run from the paddock bend? The reason why I say this is the gate we left open to go on and off last time, is its really a safety barrier, to stop people coming back the other way around the track understeering and flying straight out the gate and into us. Person next on can be ready and waiting at the proper start line and we can exit via that way aswell.

Ha I sound like Mr health and safety lol. It only came to mind when I sat that waiting to run and then saw cars driving directly at me.

Nothing wrong with the sprint start, can be quite tricky I'd imagine in something quick, tricky enough in my 5, where's the big gate?

Video of the Figure 8 version of the sprint I did, thought it was quite interesting.

I was lifting to turn in for the first corner way before you when I did Curborough Sprint school, I could probably carry at least another 15mph if not more with bigger balls. I'm crossing the finish at 90mph on GPS to give an indication to straight line speed

Quite tricky is a bit of an understatement imo. To maximise the entry you basically need to leave your brains at the start line and go in on blind faith that your cold tyres and going to hold you. Tried that approach and that was the only time I ever had a near miss and boy was it 'exciting'. Pussy-footing around it because you're scared is quite unsatisfying.

I am actually one of the slower across the finish despite being the fastest N/A car in all of the roadgoing class 1 cars at the sprint, others were doing ~90, I was high 70/ low 80 based on finish speed trap. :( I was also ~6mph down on the first speed trap compared to others, so I'm doing something wrong, certainly up for pointers from anyone on the day :) I can see there is more time there with a bit of practice, a school is probably a good idea.

I nearly lost it pootling onto the track from that way. I've seen various cars just randomly spin off there without trying. I'm not interested in it, it'll add nothing to the day for me and so if anyone else wants to use it, carry on, but I will not!

God my car is going to be getting a right hammering, Donnington on 21st, this on 24th, pretty sure something early August for a charity rides. Whens Santa pod :D
