Where to find hardwood panels?

I've been tasked by the in-laws to try and repair a couple of old (possibly antique) cabinets and need some wood to replace a few panels and drawer sides.
Unfortunately I've no idea which woods were used, but they're definitely hardwood. Colur looks to be something like European oak/ash/elm, American red elm, perhaps even a walnut. I could possibly stain the wood, if needs be.

Here's the real problem - I need five or six panels, each about 450mm x 240mm - ideally 15mm thickness.

I have some experience with DIY, but simply do not have the equipment for joining boards or thickness/planing on this scale myself.

Obviously furniture and cabinet and jewelry box makers get their wood from somewhere...
Does anyone know where I'd find such a thing?

Thanks.

Thanks, but most of those on eBay seem to offer narrow boards, hoofing great blocks or really thick pieces, none of which I can make use of. I'm specifically after pre-jointed panels.

He has a workshop and can cut timber to size. Thats why I said contact a few of the sellers as they will sometimes be able to cut and plane it to your dimensions. This guy was very helpful for me, so worth a quick email to ask.

I run a joinery workshop just outside of Reading and have a reasonable amount of dry stuff for jobs like that, quite a demand for small machining jobs nowadays and we appreciate the work even if its for a few beers. Probably against the rules and a bit distasteful to advertise, however if you can contact in private then we might be able to help you out. As a rule of thumb timber yards and suppliers aren't interested in supplying small amounts of timber and the mass produced wooden panels/components they offer aren't up to much.

Oh riiiiiiiight, I see what you mean. Sorry, didn't twig, as I saw no mention of machining to requirements, or anything.

Quick google for "hardwood furniture board" comes up with something like what you are after?
Something like that, yes, but thinner. More like cabinet panels I guess, as 'furniture' panels seem to be kitchen worktop thickness.

Your PM appears to be broken, sir...

At the OP are you sure they are solid panels and not veneer?
Oh yes, very certain. You can see the broken boards are all solid wood, others have split along the grain, there's even some woodworm and all the signs point to antiques, including the fact that in-laws *love* antiques... and at least one of these is a family heirloom.
"There's no veneer in 'ere!!" :D

I'm not knocking veneer it's an extremely skillfull technique, cheap chipboard furniture gives it a bad name but decorative veneers most definitely are not. Anyway I was just checking.
