All the help will really be appreciated thanks. I had a custom built PC about 6 years ago but for the past 2 years I have no PC been using my laptop. So finally have decided to build my own PC, there is just so much stuff on the market so I really need all the help I can get. The PC will be used for video editing (a lot), playing games in 4K and for VR gaming. I already have the power supply the EVGA G2 Gold 1600w I also don't need the monitor, keyboard or mouse. Budget is around £3000 (that's my 2 years savings :) )

Apologies, Im newish around here. Will remove them now.
You'll also have a problem with the '************' - as it links to competitors once you follow the link. You'll need to edit that too.

And you're sig is too big (only four lines of text) see below for sig size rules etc:

You may use a signature in your post. Please access your Account in order to specify a signature to display at the foot of your posts. You may use multiple images in your post, but combined they must not exceed 400 x 75 pixels, nor exceed 20Kb in file size. You may also have one line of normal or smaller text above or below your signature, with no spacing between text and image. If you do not have an image in your signature you may have four consecutive lines of text. These must not be padded out with blank lines. You must not use moving images in your signature. If your signature is removed by a member of the moderating team and you are unsure as to why please contact the team. Do not post complaint threads on the forums, and do not replace your signature without amending it.

If you're quick you'll be able to edit before a mod sees them. They're pretty understanding with new members - so don't sweat it.

It almost feels like I'm hijacking the thread lol. Thanks for the heads up.
NP - easily done when you first join.

How serious/demanding is the video editing?

How important is relative silence? Personally, it's really important for me - especially as my system is used for work more than gaming. If this is a factor then consider air coolers over AIOs and a sound dampening case (i've assumed you want silence as you're using it mostly for video editing - but you can obviously edit the builds accordingly.)

I added the slightly smaller be quiet cooler - but this again can be swapped out for its monster brother or a Noctua.

I've added a a single 1080ti (great cooling on this particular card) - but included a board that will accommodate SLI if you feel you need it at a later date. Again, personally, i prefer a single card solution to the PITA that is SLI/Crossfire - but some people don't mind it so the option is available if you desire it.

I've added the 1800X again for relative silence at stock (rather than clocking) and your budget dictates the best - but be aware that the 1700/X would do the job equally admirably.

I've only added 16Gb of memory - but if your video editing is demanding up this to 32GB. I would recommend 2 x 16GB as your budget allows for this and less stress on the memory controller. Plus, you could add more if you needed it at a later date.

An expensive M.2. drive - speed gains are marginal to the cheaper Crucial but it is the current leader in this area - but be aware you could get a Crucial MX300 1TB M.2. for similar price with very little performance loss.

Case i picked a midi tower - but if size isn't an issue there's other tower cases that are geared towards silence. This case also has optical bays if you need them - but there are cleaner lined cases if you don't need this option.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,047.08
(includes shipping: £13.20)

Below are a few examples of alternative components for comparison:
  • cheaper M.2. - more storage for similar speeds but same money
  • cheaper CPU
  • Bigger cooler plus an AIO for example.
  • Clean line case example - no optical bays

Mix and match - and let us know what your ideal build consists of.

EDIT: or did you want bling in the build? (Hadn't considered this):
