True much of the zombie genre is rubbish but you do get the rare excellent product, the man basically invented the genre and I've at least enjoyed many things from it so I'm thankful to him for that.

some of his early stuff was good but he lost his way in the last few films, Land of the Dead was just ridiculous in premise, he seemed to get too hung up on trying to be clever and making socio-political statements blah blah blah.
and the less said about Monkey Shines, the better.
