Hi all,

I bought my card a couple of months ago from ocuk and am super happy with it with no problems. One of the reasons I went zotac is because of the 5 year warranty. I have just been reading another post about an evga warranty and noticed that in a link that the 5 year warranty is only valid if I registered within 28 days, otherwise it's only 2 years. Do you think there is a way I can get them to allow me to register my card and honour the 5 years. Is there anything the ocuk staff could do to assist please?

Thanks in advance.

Reading their site you might be out of luck- but worth dropping Zotac an Email directly stating your a bit late the party and not tech savy!

also after the 2 years. extended warranty RMA is handled by Zotac ..... Not sure if they have UK RMA or EU.

Warranty claims during the extended warranty period must be filed by the original purchaser of the ZOTAC product who has duly registered for product warranty services online in accordance with paragraph 3 above.
Product returned for extended warranty services must be sent to ZOTAC or to a service center designated by ZOTAC as per ZOTAC’s instructions. You will be responsible for costs and risk of transportation.

Also not sure if OCUK handles the full 5 year warranty, if your giving CS a shout might be worth asking them about that - I think they do though and why people encourage to buy from OCUK if its Zotac

yeah, the extended warranties always require you to register within a certain amount of time. Pretty sure there was something in the box to remind you of it as well. Hopefully you get it sorted.

It's Hong Kong unless it's changed. Good luck getting it shipped and back quickly!

I'll go EVGA then - I believe they've got a UK Centre? or European.

Pay the extra tenner for another 3 years.

UK, EU is the trade in. I think they are like Aorus and their 4 years, first 3 are down to reseller unless they are just useless then off to their UK RMA for the extended Yr(s)

again, could be wrong with OCUK being able to cover the full 5 years with zotac but only they can state

im not sure EVGA extended warranty is covered when its passed on second hand- which is logically as would cost them a fair bit of sales lol

They've got a UK RMA base now, which ships it off to Germany but obviously it'll be cheaper to ship to a UK address instead of the EU. However when I RMA'ed to Germany (this was before they had a UK base) they were quite quick at turning it around and I usually got my card back with 3-5 days after shipping (obviously depends how fast your GPU gets to them).

After 2 smooth RMA's over the last 7 years with them I see no reason to change.

Customer service have advised me to email zotac direct so I have registered it now and contacted them, fingers crossed they allow me to have the extended warranty, the card is only 2 months old so I have 22 months left of the original warranty if it fails so I hope they will be nice to me. I looked at the manual that it came with and all it says about the warranty is to look online for terms, it does not actually state a time period to register. Anyway like I say fingers crossed.

Got this back from zotac

Dear Paul,

Unfortunately we are not allowed to make any exceptions, as it is working well generally it should continue to work as it should for years to come.

Kindest regards,

Eurotech Team

A bit disappointed but I suppose it is my fault for not realising.

Just hoped that considering I had 22 months left on my warranty anyway it would be neither here nor there to them. I get if I was at the end of my 2 year period and tried to claim after but not this.

Thanks anyway guys.

Well that sucks. Sorry to hear that, I guess that's how they get away with claiming its a 5 year warranty, by having those who don't or forget to register, pay for those that do and have RMA's beyond those 2 years!

Ha, I'm sure it wont. I haven't bought many graphics cards recently but as long as it doesn't run super hot (GTX480 series) then it should last long enough until you buy a new one :)
