Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

Are any other United fans really unenthused by all the Perisic talk? Latest rumours are suggesting that the fee is still a problem and that Inter continue to demand Martial as part of a deal, which is mad considering Martial is much younger, has more long-term potential as a player and with add-ons could end up costing more than Perisic. Also, an Italian football pundit recently said that Perisic is very inconsistent, some weeks he can be the best winger in Serie A, others he can be a total donkey. I don't want that at United and I really don't think we should be spending £40 million on him.

I'm not even convinced United need a winger, I'd rather we try to secure another CM. The links to Veratti are much more interesting to me, particularly now that he's represented by Raiola.

Last I read he flew out to the Far East with the rest of the Inter squad a couple of days ago so the deal can't be that close to being signed.

I'm not overly excited by Perisic, and £40m seems a lot, but it really is the new £20m. Hasn't Arnautovic just gone for £24m? He's so average 95% of the time.

The bottom line is he's not worth all this hassle with Inter, but if Mourinho is really keen and it gets sorted out, I won't be unhappy. I think he may be pretty effective.

Can you have thoroughbred donkeys?

Thats mean. Rooney is more like a fat cat. Thinks he is the **** and struts around like he owns the place but when it comes down to it he can't cat.

Yeah I really don't want perisic, certainly not for £40m. Martial should be kept at all costs. He is a brilliant player that just needs some confidence and a run of games.

On the topic of Veratti, PSG ain't selling him. A midfield with Pogba and Veratti in it would be immense but I doubt PSG would sell even for £100m. One of my favourite players but hes going nowhere for a while.

barkley to spurs will happen imo and will probably be the walker fee that funds it. i trust poch will take him up a gear and he'll be a good addition to the attack

I'm not really sure what he'd bring to Spurs though? He'd be a super sub, sure, but would he accept that? I mean would you drop Dembele, Wanyama (possibly but a very different type of player), Alli or Eriksen? Because three out of those four are far better players than Barkley.

Absolute class act - Szczesny

Actually quite sad hes left, hes improved playing regular first team football, he had the most clean sheets in serie A last year

I remember being a young boy in Poland, watching David Seaman, Thierry Henry, Dennis Berkamp and others play for Arsenal. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get a chance to play for the club I supported as a little kid. When I was approached by Arsenal in 2005 my world changed forever. I began my journey as a 16 year old boy at the Arsenal's academy, trying to one day become a first team player, going out for evening runs in East Barnet with Jack Wilshere. Little did we know then, that couple years later we'd beat Barcelona in the Champions League and wear the no.1 and no.10 shirts.
It has been over 11 years since I became an Arsenal player and I never thought the day I leave this club would come. Everything that I am and everything that I have, I owe to Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, Liam Brady, David Court, Bob Arber, Steve Bould, Neil Banfield, Mike Salmon, Tony Roberts, Gerry Peyton, Pat Rice and many others. Words can't describe my gratitude to these people and love for this club.
Today I move on, ready for the new challenge in my life, taking with me only the good memories and bag of expierience. I leave hopeful that those days of Berkamp,Henry, Seaman and others are soon to return to Emirates Stadium and Arsenal get back to winning the Premier League.
I may not be an Arsenal player no more but I will carry the Arsenal name with me wherever I go and I will do so with great pride.
Once a Gunner, always a Gunner!

he'd bring a fresh option from the bench and rotation. mainly for eriksen and son

Barkley would be better off moving to a smaller club if anything. At Tottenham unless he is going to be a regular first XI player (which he probably wouldn't be) he won't get enough game time and will just become another player that drops off the radar and whos career fizzles out.

I think he's there already, maybe the higher level of competition at Spurs will do him good. He's got a lot of talent but seems to have no footballing brain, his decision making is terrible but he's a good technical footballer, big and strong with two good feet.

How can Chelsea sign morata for 58 million 0lus addons. And we can't even sort a deal?

It's like we sent the brexit negotiators in.
Because they aren't Utd, who paid a stupid amount for Pogba last year. So Real probably thought let's try and rip them off some more lol.

But I think Morata preferred playing under Conte as he played for him when he was at Juve on loan a couple of seasons ago.

TBH I think you lot are probably better off with Lukaku, who at least is EPL proven. Morata isn't so could be an epic failure for Chelsea. But for £58mill, Chelsea won't complain that much I guess

Everybody knows how rich we are. I think the rumours were 70m euros with us which is about that though isn't it? It's possible we just didn't think he's worth that and wanted to pay more to get Lukaku.

Didn't he have the highest number of clean sheets in Italy last season, £10m as well..not a huge amount of money.
