It doesn't say 'refurb' anywhere, so I guess it can't be one.

Apple have done really, I've just gone along for the ride. :D

They'll likely just replace the battery as it'll be in stock and do able in store!

I already did.. (and got a 2017 with Touchbar) but OldCoals has an MBA and the supply issue is with the top case for the MBP

The battery in my 2012 MBA says it needs servicing, I wasn't going to bother to be honest but I am now wondering whether or not to book it in, I am in Manchester on Saturday.

MBA battery is user replaceable - around £40.

Replaced the one in my youngest's 2011 version a few months back.

That is insanely great customer service! Apple really go above and beyond, you must be delighted with that outcome GeX.

I am :D

I've got a Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box 550 on order now. It'll be strange having an officially supported external graphics card!

Mine is 6244 and saying the same things, guess I should look into this too!

Yes! (quote you so the forum should alert you!)

I have a external GTX970 in a modified TB2 enclosure that I use on my Mac mini and did use on my 2012 MBPr. It worked really well the system booted ok with it attached. OS X was always fine but Windows had a bit of a reboot dance to perform sometimes.
Hoping that now TB3 has actual support for GPUs it'll be more reliable all round :)

My 2014 macbook Air is saying battery needs service.
Do you think Apple would replace the battery ?
