"TalkTalk" scam calls daily, what can be done?

TalkTalk, soon to be Sky.

when you switch to Sky enable Sky Talk Shield/Protect. We enabled it on our line a few weeks ago never had any of them get through since - added all the numbers of friends and family to the allowed list so they get straight through the rest they have to say who they are then it rings we chose to accept it or block it. None of them have done it so far, so they must give as they will prob know it will get rejected.

I never answer the phone unless they start to leave a message on the answer machine, I will then pickup if I wish to talk to the person on the other end.

It's getting ridiculous now. We're getting >2, up to ~6 calls throughout the day from Indian "TalkTalk" or "Your ISP" scammers.

Telephone Pref thingy doesn't work coz they're overseas callers.

What can be done to block them? Or isn't it possible?

One of the buggers even had the gaul to tell me "You are very stupid" when I told him I wasn't falling for it. The cheek! Phones me up to steal my monies, then calls me an idiot for failing to be scammed. ***hat.

Buy a whistle, if they call trying to scam you, blow the whistle as loud as you can down the phone. They will soon stop calling

I don't have a house phone but on rare occasions I get the 'we think you have been in an accident' call. I have started to now place the phone near my speakers and turn the music up. They don't like that.

Would scare my (admittedly timid) cat ****less if I did that :p She already runs to her safe space whenever the doorbell rings... poor thing.

THIS
Life is too short to waste it on lowlifes trying to scam or sell you double glazing :p

This is absolutely the answer for a landline. On my cell I won't answer if you're not in my contacts list, period. Leave a message and If I'm interested I'll call back.

One of the worst things you can do with these types of callers is to engage them in anyway. That just makes it more likely that they'll call more often.
