Hi guys.....


Just purchased this car.. ;)

2014 VOLKSWAGEN SCIROCCO COUPE 3-DR
2.0 TDI R Line BMT

getting it delivered on Tuesday i cant wait, my previous car was a corsa 1.2 2001-2005 lol

and i cant wait until it arrives..

Color : Rising Blue Metallic

Anyone else in OCUK that drives : these cars with any information or tips or anything i should watch out for....

Friend has one with the same engine and spec

He loves it and is still under the illusion it is some sort of "fast" car. In all seriousness though I'm sure you will be happy - i still think they look nice exterior wide too
 
Oh wow a diesel VW what a rare car :rolleyes: if it was the proper R version then fair enough but it's a all show and no go diesel
 
To me sircocco just screams 'I still live with my parents and just spent all my apprentice wage on a lease' I know quite a few people who got one after their crap first car, kind of sounds like what you did.

Yea not exactly a head turner. But I think even the R version is a bit poo compared to the Golf R, since it's not AWD for some reason.
 
I think they are one of the most overpriced used cars on the market.
They are priced like a hot hatch but the vast majority for sale are the 1.4T with 160bhp or the diesel with 140bhp. That's not even warm hatch territory by today's standards.
Just looking on AT the cheapest 9 year old models with less than 100k mileage are still priced between 6-6.5k I just don't see what they offer for the money

Yea it's a bit silly. I considered one years ago, but bought a Focus ST-2 with only 7k miles for the price of a mundane spec Scirocco with 20-30k on it.

Exactly at least it's a proper hot hatch aswell. For a grand less you can have your pick of ST's, Vxr's, Mps's etc which are all at least 225+ bhp.
The rear of the Scirocco has always reminded me of the car in Wayne's World with the flames on :D
 
People that buy 140 tdi Scirocco's aren't remotely interested in Focus St's, the mazda MPS etc.

They want a car that looks nice (to them) outside and in that offers reasonable running costs.

And on the whole that's what they get - hence they hold money well because ordinary people clearly see them as a desirable car, the market dictates pricing regardless of whether it seems sensible or not.

If you're in the market for a 2 litre diesel hatchback with 3 doors, it's vastly better looking outside and in than say a boggo Focus, Astra etc - hence people will pay more
