I turned 30 today.

My son turned 6 Months today.

I'm stuck in the office working due to having to use most of my annual leave for paternity in January!

Tell me a joke, story, or do something to help me get through the day so i can go home and see my family!!

And for anyone else celebrating today! Happy birthday!

Sucks. I remember my 30th. Went abroad for the weekend with my new girlfriend (now wife). Barely left the hotel room

Can you not get additional time off work? Some people at my work for example decided to give themselves an extra months holiday over what they get and it only effected their pay by a small amount as it's taxable over the thresholds.

e.g. they get 25 days of annual leave (increased to 30 after 10 years) and then they told the employer they want an additional month off (say 20 days) this then meant they lost some of their annual leave (pro rata) was like nothing though a day or so. Everything you earn over the threshold is taxable so effectively the 1 month's wage that is cut isn't a full month of take home more like 60-70% of a months wage you lose out on and it's spread out across the year, so it works out as a small loss.

however it does mean that you essentially get 50+ days off a year.

These days you'll be lucky if they move out before they are your age. If they go to University they will be gone for a while, and then come back!

I'm 22 and I could move out just about, if I rent, but I want to save for a deposit so I'm going to be here for a few more years...

Can't imagine many places at all offer that Sonny, 50 days off a year without pay being affected much, everyone would be signing up.

Yeah i can get more time off, but unpaid, and well i have a mortgage and 2 kids to support on one income, so its not logical.

My 30th everyone at work did a collection and got nearly £60 i was well chuffed, thought i'll treat myself to a New 3DS XL.
I get home and our staffy has smashed the fence AGAIN, escaped and the dog warden had her. £60 to get her back.

My two huskies are fine, my wifes staffy is like Houdini. We replaced the entire fence with concrete gravel boards and thick panels to stop it getting out lol

I went to the F1 in Spa for my 30th with ex. Was a great weekend, I got very drunk on Belgian lager and came back to my tent to find she'd covered it in balloons. Cow.
