I can't help thinking I'm being thick or missing something obvious here.

I'm changing the euro cylinders in the doors of my newbuild but I simply cannot work out how to get at one particular cylinder in the left-hand french door.

How do I get to the bolt holding it in place? Does the "insert name here" come away from the side of the door somehow?

There is a door length mullion??? On the shut door.find the screw caps remove to gain access to lock.or it "might"be screwed from the glass rebate in which case glass has to come out

Having googled Mullion yes there is, attached to the one door. I can't see anything I can remove to gain access to the cylinder bolt :(

Might well be screwed from behind the glass then.be carefully if you decide to remove glass so you do not crack the pane.door will require repacking of glass panel too

You need to remove the keeper plate and then drill your frame mate to replace the cylinder the other side

*EDIT*

Make sure your fitting security handles otherwise the cylinders are next to useless

Nice find!
Would not have thought of that ☺

My uncle recently replaced the cylinders on some relatively new uPVC french doors and it did not involve taking the glass out or drilling any holes through the plastic. I'm sure it was just a few bolts to remove the strip then everything else was just normal under it.

It's also worth noting that the YouTube video above look like really old french doors with a different set up obviously.

If you're drilling through the mullion, just be very careful not to hit the bolt as they are usually made from cheese.

Why are the locks useless without security handles?

without a security handle its easy to get access to the lock and try and snap it, security handle prevents them even getting to the lock - the anti snap lock should be your last line of defence

Sorry for the late reply. Fitted Mila ProSecure handles at the same time.
