Hello,

This is the headunit manual in question; http://www33.jvckenwood.com/pdfs/B5A-0816-00.pdf

I'm ready to install, however i'm not sure if the headunit has a remote turn on wire, the manual lists a "power control" 12v wire. a google search hasn't resolved my question. I would just cut it, but as the wire goes into the iso block and seems to connect to another wire in the original iso block i'm uncertain. regards.

fyi the wire in question is blue with a white strip, which gives me some confidence it's a remote turn on wire.

Blue or blue/white is the correct ISO colour for the power antenna out which is commonly used as remote too.

These days, yes but it's essentially just a remote output regardless whether it switches an amplifier on or triggers an electric antenna. (or both)

It is perfectly possible that it is used for that. You can still "piggyback" off it to trigger another device. Some units like my alpine have two remote outs, one plain blue (power ant) and the other blue/white. (remote) Others sometimes have a piggyback bullet connector.
