EK Predator

Well I'd rather they take their time and get it right... given the problem with the Predator leaks, they need to ensure there's no repeat of that.

+1

Get it right, be confident in their product and show this by giving 5 year warranty like other companies. Then I will be happy to pay the premium.

Absolutely... the Predator range NEEDS to be seen as a serious contender to a custom loop, not some second-rate but still very costly alternative. Based on all the issues with them previously and the countless leaks I saw, custom was a far more attractive option for me, even if it ended up more expensive. I would like to see them really nail this upcoming MLC range, and I believe with their skill set they have the ability to do it. We shall see...

Me too, I just worry the "cost of R&D" will factor in and it will price itself out of the market expect for elite tier people.

But we can but hope! :)

From my experience with my 360 predator, they are nearly as good as a custom loop (D5 pumps are better than the predator one was though). If only it hadn't leaked. I'm pleased with my switch to an XSPC 360 kit, but it was quite a bit more expensive. I think it's going to be a while before I'd trust a CPU block which wasn't solid copper top and bottom though. The ones with the plastic tops give me heart palpitations now..

Yup, and that's exactly the point... RELIABILITY. I've built quite a few custom loops and have never had any issue, nor have I read about many leaks generally across the main brands... any problems invariably arise from user error, not tightening a fitting properly, nicking an o-ring, that kind of thing. The issues we saw with the Predator are practically unheard of when it comes to custom loop components.

I think it is reasonable to expect slightly better performance, quieter pumps etc. when it comes to full on custom loops... the compact size of an AIO, expandable or not, is always going to be a limitation. But there is ZERO excuse for not producing something that is just as reliable, especially at this price point.
