This exists in Crieff, Scotland - http://www.nutcrackerchristmasshop.co.uk/shopcontent.asp?type=Aboutus

Dedicated, permanent christmas shop. I got dragged into it in June during our summer up here this year on that one day in June. 19 degree's outside, sun all over the place and the next thing you know there is little elf ***** dangling from the roof and Xmas tunes blaring around the snowy grotto.

Absolutely stinking of cinnamon and ginger as well. I don't even believe in jesus. Was one of the worst experiences of my life.

(you missed the key word: EXPLOSIONS!?)

Late this year, started seeing posts back in June on FB regarding people already buying xmas gifts

I know many that do their Christmas shop in the summer!

Why do stores use Christmas in their marketing when Christmas is so far away?

Because it works. It is no more stupid than any other sales used to clear stock ready for whatever lines are coming in.

I saw a company advertising their online Christmas Tree selling business about a month a go on a Freeview channel, Selfridges are a little late to the party really.
