Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

I have no doubts that he'd want to join them, I'm less certain that he'd attempt to push through a deal though, in fact I think it's very unlikely.

It's not like we saw much discontent publically from Neymar either or that he had to push for it. Even in the current market I don't think he's worth 100m and realistically I don't think it will be offered by Barca. When the move comes I don't think it will cost them that much. I think he will have another year treading water tbh.

Cm can you please read past posts for christ sake, even I have pointed out why I think it's unlikely he moves mostly based on his current actions are totally different to neymar and other players who clearly pushed for moves.

No one doubts he will end up at barca we doubt it's this window.

Now barca are getting a stupid amount of money they may come back to us with a 3rd offer if they weren't all ready.

Bust up with his team mate other day, dijk making a fuss, plenty of players make it obvious they want out if they truly want to leave.

Would paying silly money for coutinho actually be a good move for Barca? He's not a direct replacement, isn't as good and I imagine there would be a fan backlash if they spend a large chunk of the neymar money on coutinho.

The value of Coutinho to Liverpool is far more than the value of him to Barca imo. They'd be far better off going after somebody like Dybala than Coutinho.
Because I think he's genuinely happy at Liverpool (even if he'd like to join Barca), it would be hugely out of character and I can't see it doing much to change Liverpool's stance. With a world cup coming no player is going to sulk for a season and Klopp/Liverpool have shown that they have no problem sending a senior player to the reserves if they don't show the right attitude.

if he doesn't go this window, barca look elsewhere to remain competitive, meaning coutinho is surplus to requirements and left feeling a bit 'meh' coutinho is their number 1 target by all accounts should they (unlikely) not lure him, they'll get someone else. neymar hardly kicked up a fuss with this move, considering it's value

So Neymar is all confirmed. Imagine if he got injured

I think this has blown the lid off the transfer market now, anything goes.

The Bale to Man Utd rumours have started up again (on Real Madrid's end), I think they want to sell him to buy Mbappe. My one concern would be injuries.

Agent would be daft to try use world cup as a tactic, We give him guaranteed games which is what you want as a player trying to get into the world cup squad, He wont play as much at Barca. If he goes which imo he wont this window, he wouldnt be a neymar replacement, he would likely play in there midfield which isnt that great anymore. They simply kept up last 2 seasons due to there strike force

In what way would it be used? Surely being the main man at Liverpool is better for his world cup hopes than joining Barca, where he could end up as a bit part player.
He wouldn't be a bit part player, he would definitely start but as you said in an earlier post, i can see Barca buying Dybala and another player for the money that Coutinho would cost. Barca have been criticised over the years for not having any depth in the squad, now is a good chance to grab a few players.

this phone's a nightmare apologies for the text on valve tube compression

he's their number 1 target and will play in a front 3, not a bit part player. how long's he going to want to be the main man at liverpool? he has no loyalty to the club historically. the world cup will just be another bargaining chip for his agent, along with the champions league competitiveness he'd get at barca, the players, the history, the climate, the way they play, no mignolet.....

He wouldn't be signed as a bit part player but he wouldn't be a star of the side like Messi and Suarez and if things weren't going well he'd be expendable.

I've not disputed that he'd like to join Barca. I asked how the world cup would be used to persuade him. Pushing for a move away from Liverpool is far more likely to damage his world cup hopes than improve them.

It seems no one can be a star except Messi, if Coutinho is fit, he gets into that side above Rakitic, Iniesta, Turan and Rafinha..imo

Edit, just seen an article saying Liverpool want Rakitic included in any deal.

so, there's a world cup on the horizon, you're not even at the peak age of your physical develepment or your learning of the game and you have the chance to go and play alongside and create one of the deadliest front 3's the game has ever seen and be an integral part of it or stay at a team where you simply don't have that opportunity and avoid two footed challenges from the likes of charlie adam

i should be an agent

Are you serious? Rakitic and Iniesta would be in front of him all day long. Rakitic is like Barcas Modric.
