Breaking: breastfeeding woman offended, twitter outraged

The usual way - society.

If a person being offended is more important than someone else being offended, that person has higher status. When a person being offended is far more important than any number of other people being offended, that person has a much higher status. Since being offended is wholly subjective, the degree of priority given to it depends wholly on the relative status of the people involved.

The media/press has helped create this culture. Run to Twitter, press pays a fee for the story, coverage, all over the Internet, ratings are up, more money in ad revenue and it has gone viral. Get them all on Twitter discussing it. It becomes a TV broadcast story. Everyone is a winner.

Why, nobody will be looking at your wife's ****.
I might.

Article says the kid is 1 year old.
Doh. "Three and half years breastfeeding" mis-read as 3 1/2 y.o. child. My bad. Article does in fact say the child was 1yo.

You don't think it's stupid that she was told to cover up in a corridor full of nude statues?
Think that's irrelevant tbh. The library might have several copies of "50 Shades of Grey" but that doesn't mean I can perform sadomasochistic sex acts there :p Although I've never tried it, so could be wrong.

Breastfeeding isn't a sex act.

I've been to the V&A a few times and it's a corridor full of naked statues and they even had an exhibition on bras through the ages in one of the sections

Couldn't see the appeal of that to be honest.

I went for the Pink Floyd exhibition.

Beat me to it sir....

I know. I was just saying that a statue of a naked woman is not the same as a naked woman; the contents of the museum aren't an invitation in themselves to either get naked or to breastfeed. It's not connected; not relevant.

So is taking a dump though. Literally every creature excretes waste. Not every creature breast feeds.

I'll also state that taking a dump is a delightful experience, one that I would happily share!

This too.

If she can breastfeed in public why am I not allowed to take a dump in public? cmon brahs lets be fair here.

I wonder if a trans woman did it... with a life-sized child doll... if she would have the same protection under law? Heck, if she's a real woman and she needs to feed her "baby"... OK I've taken this too far.

3 years old! It should be on solid now, fair enough if she wants to feed the child but at least cover it up slightly or go to the toilets, if the child was under a year old then I say it's fine. TBH breast feeding has always been a touchy subject, I'm more than happy to see some boobies but not when the kid is being breast feed, it would put me off my **** bank for a good week or two!

Most natural thing in the world, if people don't like it, they have issues.

So is my hobby of playing with myself, if I go outside and do it I get done for "Indecent Exposure".

Saw a woman breastfeeding her kind in Hull Whaling museum (prepares for jokes) in the early '80s. Mate I was with was weirded out, I thought sod all of it.

As for this woman... It's up to her if she wants to breastfeed, but if you're on someone's place of business, I imagine they have the right to tell you to gtfo, but that's probably a bit weird.

Running to twitter to bitch about it though is just attention seeking. Get over it.

Before the Internet boom this wouldn't have made the news. Remember those good old days? All the garbage you didn't get to hear.

What are the odds this story is one of the main talking points for tomorrow on TV and Radio? Hashtag.

Such a shame I have neither a tv nor a radio ;)

Bang on. We've given all the whining pussies an audience.

While I freely acknowledge the fact that a woman breastfeeding her child is one of the most natural things in the world, I think that it should be done with a certain amount of decorum and discretion, even if just for the modesty of the mother.
While I would not perve at a woman engaged in naturally nourishing her infant, pointedly looking in any direction but at her, to ensure everyone that I'm no peeper, we can't deny that some guys would hope to get a glimpse of flesh.
Finally, I don't see what difference it makes if the woman is feeding her child surrounded by statues.
Just because the bare breasted statues are there, it doesn't mean that real ones can be on display too, on the basis of all breasts are similar to look at.
There's a world of difference between a real warm breast, and a bunch of cold stone ones, anyone who gets excited looking at bare breasted statues, really should seek psychiatric help.
