Breaking: breastfeeding woman offended, twitter outraged

Funny that. I don't use male urinals or male communal changing rooms for the same reason. Lack of privacy for something that should be done behind closed doors.

I find it weird that people are so at ease with it.

But that is your personal hangup

Urinals - They are quick and easy.

Communal changing rooms - not my favorite things ever, but if there's no cubicals you just have to get on with it.

Why do you think these things should be done behind closed doors?
Same reason we don't all walk around naked?

To add to this: why do toilets/bathrooms in houses have lockable doors? Why do we even give the toilet/bathroom its own door?

Surely we should celebrate whenever a guy goes for a ****, should be a spectator sport!

Love communal changing rooms... and showers... and baths!! mmmmm I miss my rugby days....

erm... :D

You could use this argument to say that any opinion of mine is invalid, due to "not enough life experience". Great. Because the only experience in life that makes you a real boy is to have dropped out some sprogs, eh? Or have been with 25.5 women.

"dropping out some sprogs?" rounding down parenthood to such a statement is beyond condescending, I will however defend your right to express that opinion as it allows me to respond. Some of those who are not yet parents have no idea of the complexities and challenges that parenthood brings, being a parent in context of this thread allows a greater understanding of the issue that this thread covers.

What facts do you want, exactly? It's obvious from this thread alone that some people don't want to look at women breast feeding in the middle of a restaurant.

Indeed I do not want to look at a woman breastfeeding whilst I am dining for the following reasons.

  1. I do not wish to intrude whilst others are going about their business.
  2. If I inadvertently see a mother breastfeeding I will avert my gaze and continue with my meal as a mother feeding her baby is the most natural thing in the world and none of my business.

Fox you're a self admitted shut in, you have little to no grasp on social norms so it isn't surprising you find behaviours such as the topic at hand awkward. If I couldn't even converse with a woman I'd probably have issues with a mother sat with a boob out next to me as well. I admire your honesty but you've shot yourself in the foot as who's going to take your opinion seriously on such matters when you don't even partake in basic socialising. Your idea of the world is far removed from what actually goes on.

Same reason we don't all walk around naked?

What are your thoughts on nudist beaches, nude models, artwork and sculpture?

To add to this: why do toilets/bathrooms in houses have lockable doors? Why do we even give the toilet/bathroom its own door?

Been to and lived in many houses that don't have locks on the bathrooms.

Surely we should celebrate whenever a guy goes for a ****, should be a spectator sport!

You don't have to look you know :p

My current house, my last house, my other halfs house and my exs house all didn't have locks on the bathroom doors and I'm sure there's other peoples houses I've forgotten about.

If you've never sat and had a chat with your mate while he's on the crapper you've never lived. Some good thinking is done right there.

Well you closed all my other threads when I veered away from the OcUK mod-approved groupthink....

Why should this one end any different?

Funny that you didn't respond to my whole post, but we'll let that slide.

This one isn't any different because it's going round in circles and completely gone off topic tbh.

I can choose not to go to a nudist beach. If I went and found it offensive it would be entirely my own fault.

I don't need to look at nude models; they aren't allowed in general publications such as newspapers - you have to actively seek them out.

A nude statue is intrinsically different from a real person. There is no need for embarrassment. You don't need to avert your eyes or awkwardly apologise. A statue is stone.

My current house, my last house, my other halfs house and my exs house all didn't have locks on the bathroom doors and I'm sure there's other peoples houses I've forgotten about.
Even without locks, they still have doors.

Bedrooms also have doors. Why?

Why do all these places have doors? Is it not for privacy? Please explain why you think privacy matters in the home, but not in public? Ie, so a public urinal is fine, but you'd close the door whilst in the loo at home? Isn't consistent.

If you've never sat and had a chat with your mate while he's on the crapper you've never lived. Some good thinking is done right there.
I find that disgusting. It's bad enough when people make phone calls from the crapper. Horrible!

That's the 3rd time you've posted that in this thread. Is it going to be on every page? Just so people can't possibly miss it? :p

I've posted twice in this thread, why not address the post instead of pretending it's not the real issue what causes you to have the viewpoint you do on this topic.

Because it's a dead-end argument. You assert that I cannot have an opinion because I have no wife/kids/normal life.

If I agree with this, I cannot comment on any number of topics and threads. I'm locked of almost all debate due to "lol, shut-in, opinion invalidated" type comments.

I have to disagree or I have to stop having an opinion on anything deemed "normal" or "adult". I essentially do not agree that lack of wife/kids/normal life makes me unable to thinking critically or rationally. Which is absurd.

It's nothing to do with a lack of wife/kids or a normal life, it's simply the fact you don't go out in public to have the experience of said situations, honestly when was the last time you were even out in public where a woman was breastfeeding?
